If you’re a fan of family bands, prepare to add The Petersens to your list of favorites.

We’ve been fascinated by plenty of sibling musical ensembles over the years, from The Jackson 5 to The Willis Clan. As for The Petersens, they’re a bluegrass family group made up of not only a brother and sisters – but Mom’s part of it as well! They also welcomed a good friend into their band back in 2017.

They’ve been lighting up the stage of the Little Opry Theatre in Branson.

The Petersens put on entertaining shows of bluegrass and gospel music, all with some added humor too. In addition to their vocals, audiences have a chance to enjoy their mixture of stringed instruments including the banjo, fiddle, guitar, bass, and more.

One of The Petersens’ performances in the Ozark mountains has gathered over 21K “likes” on YouTube.

Although they’re mostly a “younger” band, this award-winning ensemble sure knows their classics. During the Branson Country USA Late Show in 2017, they performed a chilling version of Patsy Cline’s “She’s Got You.”

The group’s website shares:

“Many of their fans grew up listening to bluegrass music, but The Petersens, one of the younger performing groups in Branson, have succeeded in introducing the genre to a new generation of fans and it shows!”

Ellen is the vocalist in the performance and her voice is taking the internet’s breath away.

Patsy Cline is a music legend whose popularity continued to grow after her untimely passing. She sits in the number 12 spot on Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Country Artists of All Time” list. They also share that “she is considered country’s most haunting vocalist.”

Although Ellen had big shoes to fill that evening – she beautifully pays tribute to Cline using her own vocal gift.

Ellen might look a little familiar to you…

Back in 2015, the singer made a television appearance auditioning on the reality program American Idol, accompanied by her banjo. She impressed judges with a fantastic rendition of “I Wanna Be A Cowboy’s Sweetheart,” earning herself a ticket to the next round. In the end, Ellen proudly placed within the top 48 of the competition that season.

Each member of the group helps make it a spectacular rendition of “She’s Got You.”

Although Ellen is the only one who sings in the spotlight – her mom and siblings support her with instrumentals. It’s a stage overflowing with talent that’s for sure!
