Many people love sports- either to practice them or to watch them on TV. Ice skating is one of the most artistic sports and the skaters’ performances often leave the audience speechless.
Apart from TV, there are also YouTube channels that upload sports videos or clips from competitions. One of them is Sweet Grace, a channel owned by a little girl that apparently loves ice skating and has uploaded dozens of videos from Asian Ice Skating competitions, with her channel counting more than 30K subscribers.
She has earned nearly 14 million views for her adorable performance.
Sweet Grace uploaded the video of a young girl performing a routine at the Skate Asia competition that took place at the Rink Ice Arena, in Bangkok. The girl performed under the sounds of the Miraculous Ladybug theme song.
The cartoon series is about a little girl that looks normal during the day, but she turns into a superhero by night.
As you will see in the video that follows, the little girl is dressed up as Ladybug and she sets up her stuff before starting her routine. Then she takes her position along with her hoop and the music starts playing. She seems quite comfortable in the rink and she tries to handle her hoop in the best way possible.
Her choreography has been built in accordance with the lyrics of the song. When the song goes:
“He’s got me spinning around,”
the girl rolls the hoop on the ice.
Or when it says,
“my feet are off the ground,”
she kind of hops to be in line with the song, or, finally, when they sing,
“It’s Ladybug, jumping above,”
the little girl attempts a jump.”
Now, a controversial moment in her performance is when she falls.
Some noticed that she falls when the song says “when things go wrong”, so they claim that it was done on purpose and it wasn’t a mistake on the girl’s part. Others insist that she did fall accidentally, but she fixed it. Also, since the title reads “ladybug and cat noir”, many viewers were disappointed by the fact that the girl performed on her own; they would have preferred her to have a partner who would play Cat Noir.
Although the video of the girl’s performance has gone viral, not all the attention was positive. Even though there were many YouTube users that praised the girl for her performance at this young age, there were others who claimed she should have waited until she perfected her skills before taking part in competitions.
“For how young she looks, let me say, that was quite miraculous,”
someone commented below the video appreciating her young age and the effort she has went to.
We are sure that the little girl enjoyed herself in the rink and she did her best to show her skills. It goes without saying, that she’s so young and she has plenty of time ahead of her to practice and reach a high level at this sport.
