We all love watching school-aged children put on performances. Their innocence and well, lack of coordination, ensures some laughable moments. At the same time, you have to marvel at just how adorable the kids are. After all, they’re giving it everything they have and then some.
So, what makes a great school performance? It’s a combination of several things. For instance, you need to a well-decorated stage. Then there’s the music to consider, as well as costumes and props. When you put everything together, you’re guaranteed to see an excellent show.
Instead of laughing, guests of this performance were taken back by the kids’ level of talent.
You first see eight young boys, probably about five to six years of age, walk onto the stage. Each one of them is clad in a crisp white suit, complete with a white top hat, pink shirt, cut bowtie, white shoes, and a cane. Without doing a thing, they’ve already captured both the attention and hearts of the guests.
Not quite Broadway but pretty close.
As soon as the music begins, the young boys sashay toward the front of the stage, moving their canes in perfect unison with the music. One thing that makes this particular performance so adorable is that it’s a fairly grownup song and dance for such little boys. Yet, they pull it off incredibly well. While their teacher’s front and center, I’m not sure they needed to rely on her guidance.
They’re having a blast and the audience loves it.
The two rows of boys then turn toward the center of the stage, passing each other while still moving their canes to the music. These kids definitely have swagger. You can tell the teacher invested a lot of time and effort to make sure the show wasn’t just good, but great. And she succeeded.
The performance almost takes you back to another era.
As the lads take center stage, they tap their canes on the floor and strike a pose. Immediately, you get the sense that you’re watching something from either the roaring 20s or mobster times during the 40s and 50s. It’s really amazing to watch these boys because as they move their legs, they’re completely synchronized.
Classy all the way.
After doing a few choreographed turns, the boys tip their hat. Every one of their moves is seamless and smooth. Considering they’re so young, you have to be impressed. At first, the dancing isn’t overly complicated. But as the video continues, which went viral by the way, the moves become increasingly more sophisticated.
Then eight sweet girls join the boys on stage.
Dressed in pink and black skirts with solid black tops, along with pink hair ribbons, of course, they take the performance to another level. Initially, they do a few cute moves. But then, the boys and girls do some pretty cool stuff. The level of synchronization throughout the entire performance is what makes this so unique.
The grand finale.
The boys and girls pair off for some fun couple’s dancing. The show ends with these young lads down on one knee and the girls sitting in their laps.
The people in the crowd couldn’t help but cheer. These kids did an outstanding job and deserved all the applause received. When it comes to school events, this one’s hard to beat.
