After Janette and Paul tied the knot at St Raphael’s Church Queanbeyan in Australia on November 14th, 2015, they didn’t want to throw just any old wedding reception.

While the tradition of creative first dances had been around for years, they clearly felt like they could take it to the next level. So for their first dance as husband and wife, they performed a routine to music from Elvis, Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Mark Ronson, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis!

As they walked into the reception venue decorated in pink and gold with caramel-scented candles burning around them, they prepared to pull off the epic dance number.

Janette told Her Canberra:

“At the reception, our guests were treated to a flash dance. Paul and I practiced for months on our first dance for it then to break out into an unexpected choreographed dance. Our whole bridal party joined us and they too had to learn the moves. We brought the house down!”

It all began with Elvis Presley’s classic love song “Can’t Help Falling In Love.”

Janette slowly walked past her groom to take her place as their guests politely cheer them on.

The happy couple starts off with a traditional slow dance, both beaming at one another (although Paul looks like he might be nervous about the whole performance).

But after pulling off a spin and then taking up new positions, it’s clear that things are about to get non-traditional!

Suddenly, the music changes to Michael Jackson’s “Love Never Felt So Good” as Janette shows off some moves, dancing around Paul – and then the two get their choreography on.

The guests all have their phone cameras on as the duo boogies on the dance floor and it’s clear the groomsmen are lined up nearby to join in at some point.

Paul then lifts Janette into his arms and spins her as their friends and family clap along.

But that’s only the beginning! Janette clearly loves to dance and pulls off some wild moves – including her own dip down to the floor – before the music changes again.

Then, Paul briefly heads off stage as the bridesmaids come out in their bright red dresses for Beyonce’s “All The Single Ladies.”

You can’t help but have fun watching this wedding party because they’re clearly so happy and having such a great time.

But seeing as how Paul just DID put a ring on it, it’s time for a new song.

Ladies night is over as the gentlemen prepare for their part of the show with some liquid courage.

Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” comes on as the men line up and pull off a fun-loving dance that gets the crowd roaring yet again.

If we had to guess, we’d say some of these guys are not known for their dancing skills, so watching them execute the choreography was undoubtedly a treat for their friends and family.

The high-energy performance continues with a brief interlude of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Downtown,” during which the groomsmen show off to the bridesmaids a bit, and then the guys get riled up for the rest of “Uptown Funk.”

We hope this venue is air-conditioned because it’s no doubt getting hot in there!

After striking a pose, they all huddle up to congratulate each other on a job well done.
