Being a superfan can be tough. It is hard to come to reality with the fact that you will most likely never meet your favorite celebrity.
Well, one 12-year-old girl decided she was going to make it happen, no matter what it took.
Victoria Anthony loves Pink. She’s been a fan for a long time and at her last school talent show, Victoria performed Pink’s hit song “What About Us?”
When Victoria got tickets to Pink’s concert, she joked with her mother about how cool it would be to sing with Pink on stage. Rather than tell her daughter it was impossible, Victoria’s mom asked her if she really wanted to.
Inspired by her mother’s words, Victoria created a video campaign asking Pink to let her sing with her. In the video, Victoria wrote in the video caption:
“Your music makes me feel strong, like I can do anything, like I can be anything. Pink you inspire me.”
In the video, Victoria tells Pink that she will be ready to sing with her at the May 12 concert and then launches into singing a Pink song. For someone so young, Victoria truly does have a powerful voice.
Victoria taught herself how to play the guitar and piano by watching videos online. When asked by Global News what she wanted to do for a career, she said she wasn’t sure yet, as she is only 12. But she is positive she wants music to be involved in some aspect.
The campaign video was uploaded to Twitter and YouTube and it seems that Pink caught wind of what was going on. At her concert, Pink stopped singing so she could talk to Victoria.
Pink had read about Victoria in the news and she asked if Victoria wanted to come up to the stage and sing with her. Obviously, Victoria said yes!
Pink warned Victoria not to pass out from excitement. Pink then hopped off the stage and ran down to meet Victoria halfway, before handing over the microphone to let her sing.
She urged the 12-year-old to sing whatever song she wanted, so Victoria went with an old song but a classic, “F**kin’ Perfect” from Pink’s 2010 album Greatest Hits… So Far!!!
While Victoria sang, Pink stood by and watched her in awe. When she was done, the singer made sure to tell Victoria how amazing she was. This will make you tear up it is so sweet!
