Figure skaters always make it look extremely easy when they’re on the ice rink, but the reality is that there’s a hefty learning curve and it’s pretty difficult to hit all the right moves. A video recently went viral of an adorable toddler who managed to surprise everyone with her amazing figure skating performance. She just glides across the ice as if it were nothing!
The toddler Riana Kadyrova, who was only two and half years old when this video was taken, definitely proves that age doesn’t matter – talent does.
The Russian girl has been ice skating ever since she was one year old and she can definitely hang with the professionals.
Skating does run in the family, as her mom Reseda Kadyrova is the principal of a prestigious skating school, Tatarstan Children’s Youth Figure Skating School of Olympic Reserve in Russia. With the skills that this little girl has shown, an Olympic career in a couple of years certainly doesn’t seem like a far stretch.
The video that was shared online, shows an adorable little girl getting ready to get onto a large ice rink. It definitely looks like Riana has a smooth and good grasp on the ice, as she feels comfortable on the slippery surface at all times. Her mom gently helps her to get on the ice, but then it’s all her.
The music starts playing and Riana’s figure skating performance could finally begin.
Right from the get-go, the almost three-year-old girl manages to gather quite some speed which would make some professionals a little bit envious.
The choreographed routine she prepared is absolutely mesmerizing.
The figure skating routine is definitely impressive, especially for a little girl like Riana! The toddler proudly shows off her skills in a cute outfit. She spins, turns and twists around without any issues, and she even manages to land a few jumps near the end of her performance.
Riana’s mother mostly trains promising ice skaters between the ages of nine and eleven, but Riana wanted to join in on the fun a little bit earlier.
“My mother is a coach and I am a ‘sportswoman’!” she proudly said in a local interview according to NTD.
Her older sister Yasmina figure skates professionally as well and Riana is following in her footsteps.
The little girl has already built up quite the reputation in her home country of Russia, but also managed to make a name for herself in countries such as Italy and Estonia thanks to international competitions.
And with millions of views on Facebook and YouTube, Riana definitely managed to melt the hearts of the internet as well. A couple of other videos of her performing have also been viewed by hundreds of thousands from over the whole world.
According to insiders in the ice and figure skating world, Riana has a ton of potential and a very bright future ahead of her.
The little girl is being compared to professionals who have had years and years of training. Even though Riana also has to practice a lot, she just has a natural talent that we’ll definitely hear more about in the future. This mesmerizing performance at only two and a half years old was just the beginning.
Riana is now seven years old and has been actively competing in professional skating competitions.
