Musicians use a bow to play string instruments, like the violin or a cello.
Accurate, but another common instrument in the string family is the guitar as well. How about playing the guitar with the bow? Luca Stricagnoli, an Italian acoustic guitarist, known for his innovative playing techniques, decided to give the guitar-bow experiment a try.
Luca didn’t just play the guitar with a bow; he lined up three guitars and played them simultaneously.

Apart from playing on multiple guitars at the same time, Luca also uses modified capos and self-conceived stratagems.

In 2018, Stricagnoli recorded an acoustic cover of “Can’t Stop” by Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and the famous band loved it so much that they shared it on Twitter.

As if he didn’t explore enough approaches to guitar playing, Luca has recently released an experimentative album called “What If.”
Honestly speaking, you can never get enough of what you love, and Stricagnoli loves to have fun while playing guitars. The first track of the album features a new guitar, invented by Luca and designed by Davide Serracini.
Garnering more than half a million subscribers to his YouTube channel, Luca has a significant fan base that can’t get enough of his fabulous music.
When asked about his work, Stricagnoli explained it in simple words: “My life consists of traveling around the world and playing concerts.”

Despite Luca’s flawless performance, we have to point out that this piece is not as effortless as he makes it seem.
Please take a look at his playing. Luca seems to be able to move each finger independently. His cover sounds terrific, and it indeed does justice to the original. Luca plays three guitars: Standard, Baritone, and 7 String, all made by Serracini. He plays the bass line using a violin bow. Moreover, he plays just on the frets.
Look carefully—it’s beyond us how he does that and achieves such a perfect sound.
If you didn’t see it, you would have never guessed that it was played on a guitar by a bow.
The video has been viewed more than 13 million times on YouTube. Now we know why NME described Luca as “one of the absolute best guitarists when it comes to crazy guitar skills.”
