A girl from West Edmonton, Canada, didn’t have to imagine this scenario.

She had an unforgettable performance and a magical moment in the most unexpected of places.

Sydney Bourbeau was performing at a local mall.

She chose the piece Thinking out Loud by Ed Sheeran, which she performed beautifully.

She hit all the right notes with her powerful voice, leaving the audience in awe, most notably, a red-haired man who stood at the sides.

Halfway through the song, she saw a man approach the stage.

He had thick-rimmed glasses and a plaid shirt.

Bourbeau said she initially thought the man was a stagehand.

But she quickly realized the crowd was roaring.

When the then 13-year-old performer took a second glance, she couldn’t help but be frozen in her tracks.

Her voice became soft, but the man coaxed her to continue singing.

The stagehand was no other than Ed Sheeran.

He then continued to sing where Bourbeau left off and asked her to continue at the same time.

“I was like, should I stop? I didn’t want to stop, but I wanted to talk to him,” Bourbeau told The Edmonton Journal.

“This is, like, the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

Bourbeau became the envy of every Ed Sheeran fan at that moment.

The two finished shared a mic to sing a verse and a chorus even if Bourbeau was trying to collect herself.

She said she couldn’t believe her favorite artist was sharing a song with her.

She also shared with the local newspaper that she has been a fan of Sheeran since the release of his first studio album.

The moment ended as suddenly as how it began.

While the moment was brief, it left a lasting memory for the student. Bourbeau had been taking singing lessons with Resonate Music School and Studio.

The music school arranged the fundraiser where Bourbeau met Sheeran.

Sheeran left the area but not before interacting with other fans and taking pictures with them.

The fundraiser helped raise $10,500 for the Edmonton Humane Society and gave Bourbeau a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

But the surprise didn’t end there.

Shortly after recovering from the excitement, Bourbeau received a message from Sheeran’s manager, who offered them two tickets for Sheeran’s concert.

“That’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. He happened to be there; she’s singing his song,” Michael Cathre said, president of the music school.

“It was amazing that she was actually able to keep it together and finish. She was shocked as if she had seen a ghost.”

People also shared their reactions through the comment section.

“Can I just say, as a musician, it was very sweet when he started harmonizing with her? It made sure that he stayed in her range, and it highlighted her voice over his,” said one comment.
