Jessica Reinl and Christopher Halligan sang ‘Shallow’ from ‘A Star Is Born’, and their version will leave you speechless.

Being a student also means that we need to join school organizations that we like. May that be arts, theatre, sports, and of course, music.

These extracurricular activities help students release stress as well as enhance their talents.

Mount Sion Secondary School formed their first choir around six years ago. This decision was made after one of the school heads saw that some of their students were singing together in the school hallway.

In the YouTube video, The Story of the Mount Sion Choir, director Colette Kearney shared that:

“We noticed these pupils were singing around the school. We gathered them together and we have transformed them into a group that sounds really well.”

This turned out to be an amazing decision because this allowed the students to have another option on how they should spend their free time.

It’s nice to see teenagers spend their precious time doing something productive. Something that will not only be good for them but will also enhance their skills and talents.

What’s admirable about the Mount Sion Choir is that their group consists of 24 students from different nationalities. They also welcome students with disabilities because, for them, nothing should stop a child from fulfilling their dreams.

Everything started small, but when you have the passion and the love for what you do – you’ll succeed. That’s the reason why this small choir has achieved so much already.

Two years ago, they were even able to organize their first-ever Christmas concert, and it was a complete success!

They prepared something special for their concert. They invited talented young girls to join them, and this proved to be an amazing idea.

Jessica Reinl, 17, one of the choir’s guests, was paired with Christopher Halligan, 19, and together, they performed the song “Shallow” from the movie “A Star Is Born.”

The song “Shallow” was originally performed by non-other than Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. Their chosen song wasn’t easy, but these two proved that they can exceed everyone’s expectations.

If you are familiar with the song, you know how hard it is to sing it, let alone perform to a large audience.

Christopher began to sing; his voice relaxing, as well as deep. It was perfect for such a beautiful song. His performance had already caught the audience’s attention, but when it was time for his partner to sing, even Christopher was shocked!

“Chris and Jess had only sung the song through one time in November,” the YouTube description noted.

Christopher’s reaction to Jessica’s voice may be the best part of their performance.

Truth is, Chris wasn’t being goofy here, he was really shocked by how good Jessica was, don’t you agree? You’d even think that it was Lady Gaga who was singing it live!

Colette Kearney, the choir director shared with Good Morning America that Chris and Jess only rehearsed the said song once!

Now, that’s what we call talent! It’s as if they have been practicing this song for weeks already!

Though everyone knew that they would do a good job, they didn’t expect it to be this good! Everyone was blown away by the duo’s performance.

No wonder the video went viral, almost gaining 2M views to date!

“When they sang it that night, it came as a beautiful surprise to everyone… as I looked around the room so many people were crying tears of happiness,” Colette Kearney said in her interview. “We asked them to stay back and we recorded the clip that most people have seen.”

These kids were amazing; everyone worked so hard and loved everything they did. This, along with their team effort and passion, made their Christmas concert a hit!

Christ and Jessica’s vocals were a perfect match! It gave the song justice, and of course, we also love how Chris admired his partner’s talent!

Colette also added, “The respect and awe that Christopher has for Jessica is completely genuine. The vocals are incredible, but I think the message that’s just as important is that of friendship, support and love.”

Enjoy Chris and Jessica’s rendition of ‘Shallow’, and don’t forget to tell us what you think.
