Dance can be done anywhere so long as you have oxygen in you.
Barefoot, in sneakers, high heels, or ice skates, people will dance when there’s music and allow creativity to flow through them.
And it’s really best when parents start their child young.
This is Ekaterina Lipnitskaia.
She’s s tiny, and her red dress makes her look even cuter, as if she’s popped out of a fairy tale book of sorts to dance for the ice queen.
But don’t let her diminutive stature fool you.
This little girl can dance on ice!
Ice dancing is a discipline of figure skating which draws from ballroom dancing.
Athletes compete either as pairs or as an individual in solo ice dance competitions, so it’s pretty much the same just without a partner.
Ice dance is different from pair skating, having different requirements for lifts and spins.
Couples need to perform spins as a team in a dance hold, while throws and jumps are not allowed.
A distinction between ice dance and other skating disciplines is the use of music in the athletes’ performances.
So in ice dancing, skaters have to dance to music with a definite beat or rhythm.
Singles and pair skaters will usually skate to the melody and phrasing of the music, rather than its beat, since that allows them to get creative and express themselves.
Little Ekaterina has her music on and she’s more than ready to tear up the ice.
Russia’s love for the ice is such a well-known fact around the world, that many books, songs and films will feature Russians doing what they do best come winter.
When it comes to the ice, it is pretty difficult to beat the Russians.
Ekaterina is just one among many young hopefuls who enjoys the discipline and may be hoping for some Olympic glory.
Watch her glide and dance at her age and you’ll understand just how passionate she is.
In fact, she can be the little ice princess!
Moscow opened its first skating rink in 1864, and from then on, it was a love affair for the Russians.
Why stay inside during winter when you can take advantage of the ice and have some fun?
It has become a tradition of sorts for them to learn how to skate and even take it to the next level if so desired.
That’s 159 years of ice skating.
Ekaterina has impressive balance and control for her age, and she will only improve with time.
Maybe we’ll see her in major competitions in a decade or so.
She looks to be around 4 or 5 years old here, and where other kids her age are struggling to walk and run, this little Russian lady is out carving the ice with ease.
The next generation of ice skaters are looking really good!
It’s a cute ice dance from a lovely little girl you have to see for yourself below!
