John Lindo is not the typical dancer.

He is tall, big-boned, and you can’t ignore his presence in the room. He might not be as slim as male dancers we’re used to seeing in competitions, but Lindo sure knows how to make a spectacular show.

Deborah Székely and Lindo won the gold at the 2010 West Coast Swing Jack and Jill competition.

Their fancy footwork is immensely entertaining. If you feel the need to dance along do not hesitate. Let the music lead you!

Known as one of the “most joyful advocates of the dance,” Lindo has won numerous awards over the years.

Today, Lindo is a dance instructor, choreographer, and competition judge, but his career was marked with West Coast Swing Dance Championships since 1992. Over the years, John has won first place in the U.S. Open, Grand Nationals, and Phoenix Champion of Champions.

Much like Lindo, Deborah discovered her passion for swing dance when she was introduced to it in 1995.

Székely started dancing when she was three years old. As the youngest member of her troupe, Deborah performed at the famous Harvest Moon Ball. She was formally trained in ballet, tap, and jazz.

At 14, Deborah quit med school to pursue her dream of performing.

In 2011, Székely decided to perform West Coast Swing without a partner, and she became a top female dance instructor traveling on her own. For more information, visit the official website.

As this video shows, you should never judge a book by its cover!

Despite his appearance, Mr. Lindo surely knows how to swing his body. The man is tall and is larger than most people expect for a dancer, but his moves are impeccable! We didn’t expect him to control his moves with such amazing precision.

Don’t even get us started on the chemistry between the two of them!

John and Deborah are totally in the groove, and this lady has core body strength to spare. Take a look at her smooth moves! They’re having so much fun together, and that’s why they’re enjoyable to watch.

It’s also clear that the audience is having a blast!

Everyone is on their feet cheering the couple on, and you can see the rhythm take over the crowd. We love how everyone in the comments section calls Lindo the “Big Boy who has awesome skills.”

Wait until we tell you that this wasn’t rehearsed nor choreographed—that’s right, it was their impromptu performance during the competition!

“One Drop of Love” by Ray Charles gave the entire performance some extra flavor, and it turned out to be the romantic jackpot for this routine. We could watch the two of them dancing all night long.

A well-deserved gold, isn’t it?

It is both impressive and incredible that two people who have never danced together before could deliver such smooth moves.

Luckily, they both figured out how good they look together on stage and continued to perform together at numerous events afterward. Thank you, for showing us the true passion behind the swing dance.
