While you won’t catch us volunteering the information, finding endless wrinkles and unannounced moles and freckles are all a part of the aging package.
Of course, we notice other things over time too. From jiggly skin and frosting hair to temperature swings and irritating forgetfulness, there’s not a lot we don’t notice.
But, there’s also no stopping it. Any attempt to do so will only produce a minor delay in the inevitable, and that is only if you’re lucky.
But this woman is taking a new approach to how she deals with the aging process.
Donnalou Stevens is making fun of growing old.
In a video, Stevens sings funny lyrics to a song called âOlder Ladies.â
When listening to it, you might find yourself cringing from time to time but because itâs spot-on, you also have to laugh.
Her video has over 18 million views.
This video starts with a group of women dressed up like theyâre from the country.
While theyâre not old per se, you can tell theyâre either nearing or have already reached maturity.
Donnalou’s telling it like it is.
The first verse Stevens sings goes like this, âWell I ainât 16, not a beauty queen. And my eyes are bagging, and my skin is sagging. If thatâs the reason you donât love me then maybe thatâs not love.â She has a good point.
She has more to say
âWell I aintâ twenty either and I donât care neither. And my hair is gray and I like it that way. And if thatâs the reason you donât love me then maybe thatâs not love.â We adore these women.
Theyâre having a blast
Whether these ladies are dolled up as country gals or dressed to the nines in pageant gowns, they keep smiling.
Wouldnât it be nice if all women felt this way about growing older? After all, the signs of aging are a gift, not a curse.
The lyrics just keep getting better.
âWell if you donât think I rock then we arenât going to roll. If you donât think I hung the moon, my hot just turned to cold. If you want a younger model, I wish you well sweet pea.â
Wow, talk about empowerment. These women are proud of every line and wrinkle and are here to tell the world that if their men donât like it, they can move on down the road.
What an awesome attitude.
Theyâre proud of their jiggle.
At one point, these women lift their skirts just slightly to show off their gams.
Thatâs when the words turn to, âI got cellulite and achinâ feet. And my thighs kind of jiggle when I giggle or wiggle. And if thatâs the reason that you donât love me then maybe thatâs not love at all.â
Oh my gosh. This is a hoot.
Perhaps the funniest part of the video
When you see one of the women trying to suck fat out of her stomach using a vacuum cleaner hose, get ready to laugh.
The lyrics go on with, âMy tummy ainât tucked or lipo-sucked. Itâs a little pouchy but I still Hoochy Koochy.â
And as youâd expect, it finishes with âAnd if thatâs the reason that you donât love me then maybe thatâs not love at all.â
Hilarious, but honest.
At one point, all the ladies don bathing suits. The words Stevens sings next are funny but powerful.
âSee Iâm no longer desperate. Iâll only have a man if he has the smarts to see how hot that I still am.â
It’s about confidence in yourself.
While this video is a riot, it makes a great point. Regardless of what a woman looks like on the outside, sheâs still incredibly beautiful on the inside.
For women everywhere who question their self-worth, this video is worth watching.
