Ever wanted to experience the joy of a crowd watching you dance, even if you didn’t want to dance?
By that, I mean wanting the attention but not putting in the work.
It’s a pretty childish fantasy, but no doubt we’ve all imagined something similar in the past.
We might’ve listened to a song and imagined ourselves performing it for a crowd.
Seems like deep down, we all crave the attention from a performance, but we’re all too shy to do it.

What if you could see yourself performing, in quite the literal way?
At this 80th birthday celebration, the seats were filled with family members.
Living this long is a blessing, but it doesn’t come without trade-offs.
Mobility is one of those, as we all know.
When you’re at this age, your bones and joints are a regular concern.
Not everyone will be moving like a 20-year-old when they’re 80.

But they wanted dancing at this party, even if they weren’t doing the dancing.
They went with the obvious solution and booked some dancers.
Though the first group of dancers they called couldn’t make it.
A shame, but not the end of the world.
One of the younger people at the event (presumably the host) booked another set of dancers.
And they dressed to impress their target audience.

The dancers dressed up like elderly people, with canes and everything!
It’s not an insult, more of a loving homage to the birthday person.
And everyone (even the seniors) approved, finding it hilarious and a bit endearing.
Makes you wonder how these dancers found “senior” outfits on such short notice.
Did they do some emergency, last-minute shopping?
They have the baggy pants, berets, coats, and walking sticks.

They’re committed to the role too, pretending to mind their hips and backs as they walk in.
They even do the old “old person” hobble, which also gets a few laughs from the audience.
Relatable, I guess?

Their song choice is a classic too, just to top it all off and take the audience back to their younger days.
We’re getting treated to MJ’s “Thriller,” which is in fact, 42 years old now.
And the choreo is hard to forget.
It has probably one of the most iconic dances in history.

And you bet these dancers knew it, even if they had to organize on short notice.
The undead hobble, the zombie hands, everything.
But are they any good?

Yes, these “grannies” are doing a pretty splendid job, considering the “last-minute” booking.
They even pretend to have back pain doing some of the steps.
A little on the cheeky, but nevertheless appreciated by the audience that relates to it too well.
A grand time was had, and it reached 1.9 million folks on YouTube as well.
I’d say these dancers did their job, they entertained the crowd and stirred up lots of laughter too.
