On America’s Got Talent, typically the acts are entertaining because they perform something fun or something that is emotionally powerful.
However, not every act needs to be singing and dancing. There have been many magicians over the years on AGT. But there haven’t been many magicians quite like The Sacred Riana.
Marie Antoinette Riana Graharani, better known as The Sacred Riana, is an Indonesian magician and illusionist. She isn’t your average magician, she’s the scariest illusionist there is.
When she took the stage on America’s Got Talent, her hair was almost covering her face (like the girl from The Ring) and she was clutching a doll in her hand. Mel B politely asked for her name, but she instead stayed silent and stared at the judges.
She then dropped her doll and climbed off the stage to get face to face with the judges. Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel were thoroughly freaked out when she walked behind them. Even Simon Cowell seemed creeped out!
There is a lot more to Sacred Riana’s act than standing around and looking creepy. She picked Mel B to focus on during her act.
She stopped in front of the former singer and pulled a black cloth off the judges’ table to reveal a polaroid camera and a box.
Inside of the box was a single newspaper clipping wrapped around a set of polaroid photos. The newspaper headline read: 12 people died in building blaze: suicide victim to blame. Then the photos all had names written on the bottom of them.
America’s Got Talent posted the creepy video on their Facebook page. Since it was shared, it has gotten 52,000 likes, over 5,000 comments, 4.4 million views, and 31,000 shares.
Everyone who watched the video online was thoroughly creeped out. Thousands of people commented to say how scared they were.
One Facebook user wrote:
That was the creepiest thing I have ever seen in my life. She is the definition of a walking nightmare
Another user called out Simon’s hilarious reaction:
When Simon hit his buzzer and absolutely everyone in that building screamed and about jumped out of their skin lol
Some people were sounding off in the comments about the fact that Riana had previously competed on Asia’s Got Talent. One commenter swiftly came to her defense, however:
Get over yourselves. Not everyone has seen Asia’s Got Talent and I love watching her “magic tricks” or “illusions”, that’s all they are not witchcraft! I’ve seen her on a talk show and she is just a normal person with an act. You people act like she’s the Devil. She is very good and a lot of people are going to like to watch her that hasn’t seen her before. Who cares if she won Asia’s Got Talent?
What did you think of this act? Simon might not have been a fan (because he was too scared) but I am pleasantly surprised by the Sacred Riana! Even if she is terrifying, it is always nice to see unique acts on AGT!
