The song’s complexity is one of its most striking features.

It’s not just the heartfelt lyrics that make it stand out, but also the demanding execution required.

Pentatonix’s journey began in 2011, following their victory in NBC’s “The Sing-Off” Season 3.

The group’s core members, Kirstin Maldonado, Mitch Grassi, and Scott Hoying, have been friends since their days at Martin High School in Arlington, Texas.

They started their musical journey performing a cappella covers in school and submitting them to various studios and shows.

They were born to sing.

Although their initial submissions didn’t bring immediate recognition, their fortunes changed when their performances went viral on YouTube, leading to more opportunities to showcase their talent.

Kirstin pursued a degree in musical theatre at the University of Oklahoma, while Scott studied popular music performance at the University of Southern California.

It was during their college years that the trio discovered “The Sing-Off” and met the other members of their future group.

Scott connected with Avi Kaplan, a renowned vocal bass in the a cappella community, and Kevin Olusola, famous for his “celloboxing.”

Together, they formed a quintet that would go on to win the third season of “The Sing-Off.”

Since then, Pentatonix has created a variety of covers, particularly enchanting audiences with their a cappella renditions of Christmas songs. (Matt Sallee eventually replaced Avi Kaplan.)
