Have you ever danced your worries away?

If you have not, today is a good time to start.

Dancing alleviates stress. According to an article that quotes the Harvard Medical School website:

“Dance helps reduce stress, increases levels of the feel-good hormone serotonin, and helps develop new neural connections, especially in regions involved in executive function, long-term memory and spatial recognition,” shared Edwards.

Since dance is also set to music, its fun factor as an exercise increases a thousand-fold.

Meet Nils and Bianca

Nils and Bianca are dancers based in Sweden. They are full-time dance teachers, performers, and choreographers. They love dancing and are particularly passionate about the Lindy Hop and Boogie Woogie.

They did not step into dancing very quickly

Bianca started dancing when she was eight. She began learning hip-hop at first when she saw her sister dance. She was very happy dancing to hip hop until she discovered Lindy Hop and discovered her true passion.

Meanwhile, Nils was a reluctant dancer. His friend kept on inviting him to classes and he kept on refusing. His stubbornness would have won out if not for his friend arranging for the dance teacher to teach in their PE class.

They were star-crossed dancers

The two have met before at Boogie Woogie competitions. They were dancing against each other as Nils represented Sweden while Bianca danced for Italy. However, they got to know each other better in 2012. Both of them participated in a 5-week intense dance camp held in Herräng, Sweden.

From five weeks to forever

During the dance camp, their fates started intertwining quickly. There, Bianca decided to move to Sweden for a year. At about the same time as her stay in Sweden, Nils ended his dance partnership with his previous partner. The two of them started exploring the idea of dancing together and the rest, as they say, is history.

They are almost urban legends

These two are so good that they have won several titles including the International Lindy Hop Championship and the European Swing Dance Championship. They are also part of the Swedish National Team and are actively traveling the world (when it’s possible) to dance and teach.

But to see is to believe right?

All these tidbits sure make Nils and Bianca almost supernatural. Maybe you wonder, are they for real? Are they actually as good as their profile says?

Well, we did not believe it at first until we saw this video of them at the Rock That Swing festival.

Their moves as slick like butter

Every second of their dance is precise. They do quick turns without batting an eyelash. You do not even realize how hard their moves are because they dance them with so much fluidity.

They have a secret weapon and it’s not their feet

We are very impressed with the detail of their choreography. They do quick turns and the footwork is insanely difficult. However, the best part of their routine is the smiles on their faces. These two really enjoy dancing. It radiates through them.

Their bodies move, their mind relaxes

Nils once shared that:

…(Dancing) made me zone out my surroundings and just be in the moment. Nowadays, it’s very much the same, I still find myself zoning out and feeling the same kind of happiness.

Are you now convinced to start dancing?

If not, watch this video and see how much joy Nils and Bianca experience with every beat and note. We guarantee your feet will be moving in no time.
