Richmond Police Department police officer Mervin Mayo went viral after he posted his cover of the song entitled ‘The Best Of Me,’ a gospel song from Marvin Sapp.
Before this video went viral, Mayo had been singing and uploading videos online, so he was surprised when his cover reached 98K views.

Mayo had loved music ever since he was a young kid.
In fact, he started playing the piano when he was just 13 years old. He had found his passion at a young age and started ministering the gospel in events, sports arenas, and churches.

Aside from being an active minister of music, Mayo is also a dedicated police officer and school resource officer.
As it turns out, Mayo has been doing this for a long time, so he was in complete shock when one of his videos went viral.
According to the minister of music, he would often record himself performing. This way, he could watch it and see what he could do better.

“I never expected this outcome… at all,” Mayo said in his interview with WTVR.
For a rehearsal video, Mayo’s performance was already captivating.

“Basically, it was a rehearsal; I recorded it and decided it’s alright. I’ll post it. Somebody might like it. I might get two likes or something,” Mayo shared.
