It is everybody’s dream to have a memorable first dance with their partner at a wedding.
Although a traditional wedding dance is always an option, sometimes couples opt for extravagant plans that people don’t expect, creating an unforgettable moment for the newlyweds and their guests.
For Ada and Mateusz, it was their dream to re-enact the iconic dance finale from Dirty Dancing.
Dirty Dancing is an American romantic drama dance film starred by Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze in 1987.
The love story revolves around a young woman and a dance instructor who fell in love with each other while facing internal and external struggles in their lives.
At the very end of the movie, Grey and Swayze dance for the last time to the classic song “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” in the style of Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes.
That particular dance finale was considered one of the most iconic dance scenes of all time.
The couple mirrored the same routine as the movie, and they nailed it.
The couples’ first dance started with Ada waiting on the floor for her husband.
The guests have already surrounded them as they alone became the room’s center of attraction on the dance floor. Ada and his husband carefully recreated each of the swivels and spins from the 1980s dance routine. This dance may be planned long before, as there are no details left behind with Ada and Mateusz perfectly nailing the Dirty Dancing-styled dance.
Of course, the couple didn’t forgot to execute the iconic lift at the end!
Ada and Mateusz continued their wonderful dance as their family and friends cheered on them.
With every dance step done seamlessly, there is one more routine that they had to do to finish the deal–the infamous “Baby” lift. At their wedding, Ada runs towards Mateusz as he beautifully catches her and lifts her in the air. The lift is what makes their dance more captivating as a continuous flow of satisfying emotions come from their guests who witnessed the scene.
Their chemistry is perfect for each other, just as perfect as their dance execution.
Their whole performance was filmed by a Polish wedding videographer company called Beres Film and uploaded it on YouTube.
The clip was viewed over 11 million times with thousands of people leaving their comments about the dance and heartfelt messages for the couple.
“I must have watched this movie 100 times and the lift ALWAYS gives me chills. This couple nailed it perfectly. Outstanding performance,” Barbara Lenox shared.
Even a 67-year-old man admits to crying about how beautiful it is. In particular, David Crowther wrote:
“This was beautiful, perfectly executed. Much happiness to you guys. You made this 67-year-old man a crybaby.”
The hype is real for Jennifer Grey’s big announcement!
A lot of couples like Ada and Mateusz have gone their way to recreate the nostalgia from the 1980’s groundbreaking film.
However, it seems like Jennifer Grey is back for a Dirty Dancing sequel as she works with Lionsgate Entertainment. For now, all we can do is to stay tuned for more updates about it—but in the meantime, we have fan tributes like this one that we’ll be watching over and over again.
