Forget the conspiracy theory that Elvis never passed and is just living somewhere, away from the public’s eyes. Besides, there are countless impersonators out there looking to make a few bucks just by imitating Presley.
Rates vary for Elvis impersonators and rightly so. Not all of them resemble the iconic legend. And even if one did look like Elvis, sounding like the man and moving like the man are completely different aspects.
There are exceptions.
This is Matt Stone. He is a nationally acclaimed singer, musician, entertainer, and is known for his unbelievable resemblance to the King. Matt first heard “Jailhouse rock” when he was 13 and since then was hooked on Elvis.

He is a high school student and has the look, the sound, and the demeanor that only the King exuded. Matt seems to be Elvis himself reincarnated at times, it’s eerie. In a cool way of course.
Matt sings “How Great Thou Art” in the style of his idol.
Red jacket, black hair, and that voice! Close your eyes and listen. That’s not Matt! Is it? Could it be the spirit of Elvis taking over when this kid opens his mouth? That’s unbelievable!
Why does he do this? Well Matt says,
“I’d like to try to save music because music is going down a path with machines and auto tunes.”
He’s not wrong you know.
“How Great Thou Art” is a Christian hymn that’s based on a Swedish traditional melody. Written by Carl Boberg in 1885, the song was inspired by a beautiful day wherein after a torrential downpour, the clouds parted and the earth’s colors and sounds made themselves known to Boberg.
And the song has stayed with us. There have been many different versions. And here’s Matt adding his rendition to the collection.
Matt belts out a la Elvis with the band providing the music.
“This is the closest I’ve heard anyone come to Elvis. The fact he’s only 15 is amazing.”
Says a Missy Gayle.
Matt’s not only got the voice, but the way he stands and moves around on stage, his mannerisms and the way he carries the tune, are all definitely Elvis Presley’s. The resemblance is uncanny.

There’s more. Matt plays the guitar too. He got it from his dad, who got it from his grandfather. He started at the age of four. And he loves Elvis so much that he attends festivals and competes.
Matt says,
“I want to be the 21st century Elvis. I want to recolonize the music industry with what people are doing now and go old school. I want to bring back talent.”
Do you think he’s doing a wonderful job at it?
The kid is hell bent on bringing back the old ways. He also plays songs from Led Zeppelin, Journey, Stevie Wonder, and many others. He’s an old soul in a young body that’s so full of passion.
You have to admire Matt. To impersonate Elvis while singing a Christian song takes a lot of creativity. He’s really giving it his all and it’s not just a career for this kid. It’s his life. He loves it. How great is he?
