The same life-changing experience happened to Sam Ryder, a man with incredible vocal abilities whose posts on Facebook resulted in millions of loving fans who want to hear more of him—and you’re about to find out why!
Sam’s on-and-off engagement with music began in 2009.
The video features a charismatic blonde guy with striking blue eyes singing Sia’s 2013 hit song “Elastic Heart.” He is a singer-songwriter from London, UK and his name is Sam Ryder.
Don’t be taken aback by his good looks just yet, because the singing is what will truly surprise you.
He has been posting a lot of cover videos on Facebook, and people recognized the spark in him. However, Sam didn’t have a YouTube account until recently and fans have been sharing his covers all across the platform. That’s the case with this video as well.
Sam is interesting because he chooses very popular and challenging songs, and he doesn’t shy away from interpreting them in his manner.
From “If I Ain’t Got You” by Alicia Keys to “What About Us” by Michael Jackson, you’ll find this guy singing versatile stuff and nailing it every time. In 2009, Sam formed a rock band called The Morning After. They released two studio albums but stopped after that. The band’s last Facebook post was in 2014.
Then in 2010, Ryder accepted to tour with the ’80’s glam metal concept band, Blessed By A Broken Heart.
The group has had a lot of success, placing on the MTV and NHL2015 charts.
After different musical adventures, Sam decided to go solo.
We don’t doubt that both collaborations did wonders for Ryder as experience is always a plus, but we’re also pretty impressed by his solo career. Judging by the fans’ reactions to his social media presence, that decision was a clever move.
Sam is excellent at creating the balance between showmanship and amazing vocal skills.
The fact that he opts for songs that everyone loves can’t hurt either. Ah yes, the powerful vocal released his debut solo EP in 2020. We’ll see how things will go for Ryder, as it surely seems like he has a great career in the making!

That’s the line Sam used to introduce the video. It must be some extraordinary vegetables because his voice is incredible! The way Sam hits every high note effortlessly is beyond belief. The best thing is that it looks like a natural thing when he does it.
He took an amazing song and turned it into an excellent rendition with a personal touch of mixture between a powerhouse voice and delicate interpretation.
As we said, the video is not on his official YouTube channel just yet, but we sure hope he’ll gather all his music material together.
After all, it did hit over a million views.
The most impressive thing about it all is that Alicia Keys approves of his covers!
Thanks to the TikTok Duets option, there’s a video that shows Alicia and Sam side-by-side on the screen, and her excitement is very visible. “He killed it” replied Keys with a huge smile, meaning that she loved the way he sings “If I Ain’t Got You.” She sang just a few words, letting him do the whole job herself.
The guy deserves the spotlight, and Alicia recognized it right away.
