Every year, millions of people attend concerts. Whether indoor or outdoor, it’s a great way to spend quality time with family and friends. Regardless of the type of concert, rock and roll, country and western, rap, hip hop, and so on, there’s a distinct aura as everyone patiently waits for the show to begin.

As you probably know, it takes a lot of people behind multiple cameras to capture all the action. Along with focusing on the band, which includes panning in on individual members, cameramen scan the crowd. That helps make people feel special, which is what going to concerts is all about.

In particular, cameramen look for people who’ve dressed up in some kind of unique outfit, those who appear overly thrilled to be at the concert, and kids doing, well, kid things. That’s what happened at a Rascal Flatts concert. A young blond-haired boy who couldn’t be any more than four years old, became so excited when the music started playing, he just couldn’t contain himself.

Some people were more interested in watching him than the band.

Inhibition? What inhibition? This kid didn’t have a care in the world. The only thing that mattered to him was the opportunity to dance to his favorite band. It was almost like he had an out of body experience. His brain might’ve been telling him to sit down but his body had something entirely different in mind.

People started videotaping the boy.

You can’t blame them. Here’s this adorable young kid who has a definite connection with music. Instead of discouraging him, the people sitting nearby thought his love of music and dance was fantastic. And what better band to dance to? That’s right, Rascal Flatts.

It all started when a boy’s parents took him to a concert.

Back in 2013, Rascal Flatts was playing in Pikeville, Kentucky. Not only is this American country band known for writing and performing outstanding songs but it’s also one of the most influential of its kind in US history. The members, who are related, started out as a Christian group called East to West.

Strong morals + great music = a fantastic band

Because of the band’s philosophy and incredible talent, it’s not uncommon for parents to take their kids along when attending one of their concerts. We’re not sure what song was playing at the time but whatever it was, it lit a fire under this young boy.

His moves quickly caught the attention of a cameraman.

Everyone around the boy was having so much fun watching him. His excitement was infectious. Before long, the number of people paying attention to him increased to the point when a camera noticed. That’s when someone turned the house light on the kid and the camera started rolling. Shown on the big screen, now everyone at the concert, including the band, could enjoy his dancing.

Instead of being obnoxious, this kid was entertaining.

He had everyone in the auditorium going crazy. Best of all, this boy could dance. He clapped, twisted, and stomped around in perfect time to the music. While Rascal Flatts sang, he kept on dancing. People were totally mesmerized at how adorable and sincere he was. This wasn’t about being a showoff — it was all about loving the music.

I see a bright future for this boy.

The crowd cheered him on. But at one point, a woman, whom I’m assuming was his mom, tried to get him to sit down. He wasn’t having any of that. “Hey mom, the music’s still playing so I have to keep dancing.” And that’s what he did…for the entire two minutes and 47 seconds of the song.

Watch out Rascal Flatts…it looks like you have some serious competition. My guess, this boy slept really well that night with a big smile on his face.
