There are some things that combine just perfectly together. For more than two decades, Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir were an unstoppable figure skating team that earned dozens of medals, including five from the Olympics.

One of their incredible combinations took place when the Canadian duo performed a routine to the classic song, “Spanish Eyes.” Not only was the audience left with their hearts going pitter-patter, but the internet has fallen in love with the performance too.

Tessa and Scott began their skating partnership in 1997 when they were just seven and nine-years-old. While their relationship has always been professional – their chemistry is undeniable.

Many have had speculations over the years that perhaps they were more than friends, but Tessa and Scott deny the rumors. After TV host Ellen asked them whether or not they were a couple on her show in 2018, Tessa replied:

“We are not. But you know, we always say that it’s a big compliment because what we portray on the ice is really important to us, and we love getting into character, we love telling a story, and a lot of the emotions we portray are universal themes that resonate with everyone. So the fact that people feel invested in our partnership is truly remarkable…”

Scott did reveal though, there was one time during their career that they dated. However, they were mere children and it was short-lived.

In the performance below, Tessa and Scott begin at the center of the ice where they gaze romantically into each other’s eyes.

With the perfectly-fitting song, “Spanish Eyes” being sung by Engelbert Humperdinck in the background – they slowly take hands and Tessa rubs hers down Scott’s chest. There’s no denying it’s a steamy start!

Suddenly, the pair break out into their routine that has captured the hearts of many.

Working as a team, Tessa and Scott glide across the ice performing moves that meld together beautifully. It’s apparent that their characters are lovers, which shines through in their movements and magical connection.

A viewer named T. Heslop commented:

“The skating really is a sight for sore eyes. Absolutely perfect. Out of this world in presentation. Precise.”

The tune “Spanish Eyes” is romantic itself, and is sung by the artist in both English and Spanish.

Bert Kaempfert composed the original instrumental piece called “Moon Over Naples,” but the vocal version, titled “Spanish Eyes,” has been covered by famous artists like Elvis, Wayne Newton, and Engelbert Humperdinck.

Tessa and Scott appear to be dancing on the ice to the song and it’s simply breathtaking.
