Professional ice skaters might make the sport look easy, but it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to perform on the ice. All those spins, leaps, and twirls aren’t easy. They train for years to become great. Many of them start skating at an early age.

When their parents notice that they have a talent for it, they seek out professionals to train them.

A handful of these talented skaters will grow up to win championships, and some will even make it to the Olympics. They will fall over and over again on the cold ice before they ever realize their dreams. It’s part of the sport, and most are happy to do it.

When she walks out on the ice, you can tell that she is a little nervous.

As soon as her music starts, though, all that goes away, and she is caught up in the music and the moment as she skates to this beautiful song.

Some of the lyrics of this beautiful song include:

“Now, I’ve heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don’t really care for music, do you?
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing hallelujah

“Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

“Your faith was strong, but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya
She tied you to a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the hallelujah

“Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah”

It is clear that Taryn is really feeling the music as she performs on the ice.

The crowd is completely silent and on the edge of their seats as this beautiful skater glides around the arena. Her white costume makes her look like an angel, which is perfect for the song.

Taryn’s performance was amazing, and it actually won her the Funakoshi Trophy at the 2010 Los Angeles Showcase, Burbank, California. It was an unbelievable show.

Another skater, Valentina Marchei, performed an amazing routine at the Golden Skate Awards.

She wore a black costume and skated to the song “Someone Like You.” She also captivated the audience and had everyone hanging on her every move.

She was able to interpret the lyrics in her beautiful routine, and she nailed all of her tricks. She had a flawless routine. When a video of her routine was shared online, she received a lot of positive feedback. Some of the comments she received included:

“I wish I could skate like that haha I’m a skater. Freestyle!”

Another said:

“Like the way she flirts with the camera at 0:07. Maybe not the best skater but she is definitely a lovely performer … and a typical Italian beauty! “

A third viewer added:

“She did an awesome job and throughout the video, I was singing this song. Awesome job!”

Ice skating has been a popular sport for a while.

According to Olympic.com:

“Figure skating is the oldest sport on the Olympic Winter Games program. It was contested at the 1908 London Games and again in 1920 in Antwerp. Men’s, women’s, and pairs were the three events contested until 1972. Since 1976, ice dancing has been the fourth event in the program, proving a great success.”
