Would you have done this as a kid?

If you’ve already graduated, think back to high school. What were you doing then? Better yet, what would you be doing if your parents and teachers weren’t around to make sure you weren’t being irresponsible.

For most people, the answer is getting up to no good. So, that’s probably what most individuals would expect from kids these days. But you might just be surprised how responsible and creative some kids from the next generation are.

Like these high school boys

When you’re a kid who loves to be creative, it doesn’t get much better than music class. A group of seven high school boys knows that all too well. But one day, something changed.

Their teacher was gone

The boys’ choir teacher was usually in class. But on one particular day, she couldn’t be there. That’s when the boys contemplated what they should do.

They had a great idea

They decided to record a video. When you hear that, you probably expect that they’d do something silly. But instead, they worked together to make a clever video.

The boys played music together

These seven guys played some of their favorite tunes as a group. They started with the Wii theme song. If you know anything about it, you’ll recognize it right away.

One boy plays the piano

He’s rocking out while he sets the melody for the rest of the group. You can tell he’s played the piano before, as he looks confident on the bench. And it doesn’t as though he’s reading music. So, there’s a good chance he knows the tunes by heart.

The rest are on percussion

Since this isn’t a band class, you can’t expect the kids to play difficult instruments. Even so, they’re all contributing to the music. But some of the boys play some sort of percussion instrument, which adds a cool depth to the song. Otherwise, all you’d hear is the piano.

They’re having a blast

As these boys perform and record their video, they’re having a great time. One boy in the middle who’s wearing a green shirt looks like he’s having the time of his life. It’s obvious these classmates enjoy playing music together.

But then the song changes

Soon, the boys begin to play something different. At this point, you’ll notice the camera resets halfway through, which indicates they had to record both pieces separately. But the second song is just as good as the first.

A super-popular video

Kids record videos all the time, right? Well, this one got a lot more attention than most. To date, it’s been viewed over eight million times. That means it’s seen all over the internet. Just imagine getting that many views while you’re still so young.

A great example

Okay, so these kids weren’t practicing their singing but we doubt their choir teacher would’ve been upset. Instead of spending their time talking and goofing off, they decided to be productive and learn something. That’s not always expected of kids, especially high school boys. So, it should be inspiring to all who watch it.
