When it comes to playing piano, Peter Buka is at the top of his craft.

The 22-year-old Hungarian pianist has been wowing the world with his amazing musical ability for years now.

Nothing showcases his talent more than a recent viral video he posted on YouTube of him playing piano in the London metro station.

The song he chose to perform was “Dance Monkey” by the band Tones And I.

A bunch of unsuspecting people were walking through the station just going about their day to day business when all of a sudden, they heard the song begin playing. Immediately, two women stopped to watch with giant smiles on their faces. They were pleasantly surprised.

Soon, other people began to take notice as well.

A small boy stood and stared with a look of shock and awe in his eyes.

Part of that was because it sounded like multiple people were playing at once.

Yet, shockingly, it was just Buka all alone. His fingers move so fast!

The one woman was so mesmerized that she couldn’t take her eyes off of his fingers as they danced around the keys.

It’s not surprising, really.

Buka’s version of “Dance Monkey” is actually more complex than the original.

He took the upbeat dance song and made it completely his own.

By the end of his performance, a small crowd had gathered around.

As he finished, there was a good amount of audible applause from onlookers who were located behind the cameraman. No one ever expected that they would witness a concert-quality performance at random while riding around the London tube, but that’s exactly what happened.

It’s not the first time that Buka has wowed fans either.

According to his about page on Facebook, he first began playing piano at the age of eight.

“I studied in classical music schools. I always liked performing on stage and I achieved great results in many national piano competitions,” explains Buka.

Then, in high school, he switched up styles. He became very interested in pop music. Although, it’s clear that his classical music training still has a great influence on his piano covers.

If we weren’t already aware that “Dance Monkey” was a pop song, we wouldn’t even have been able to tell. Without the singing and funky beat to complement it, it sounded very different, in a good way.

Once you hear it for yourself, you’ll understand what we’re talking about.

“I feel like this is my passion,” said Buka.

He is definitely telling the truth. By watching him play, you can tell that music touches something very deep in his soul. He was both intently focused and meticulous with his key choices while at the same time, still constantly moving and swaying to the beat.

It was really beautiful to watch and several people pulled out their phones to record the event.

The public Platform88 piano in the station was the perfect place to showcase his talent. Although, we’re definitely going to keep our eyes on this musician over the next several years.

We won’t be surprised at all if he soon begins playing in giant concert halls around the world as well. With over a million subscribers on YouTube now, he has a very bright future ahead of him.

Just this single video alone received over 33 million views. It is one of the most-watched piano performances on the Internet of all time.
