Singing
Granny takes stage in black leather for fist-pumping rock song
I think it's safe to say that nobody guessed this would be her song. She rocks those pants better than some people half her age.

The really great thing about shows like Britain’s Got Talent is you really never know what you’re in for.

These shows appeal to a variety of people and their interests and almost never fail to surprise.

That’s exactly what this performance was about.

There’s Glittering Gonzo with his kitchen tongs and tambourine, Donchez from Wolverhampton got the judges and hosts dancing to his “Wiggle Wine”, and of course, Susan Boyle who went on to become a singing sensation.

The show has seen the likes of Glittering Gonzo and Susan Boyle’s rise to stardom. There’s no stopping the amount of insanely talented people from joining the show.

That guy delivering your food may be the next big thing.

Well, this time around the show produced a retired rocker.

Jenny Darren was 68 when she auditioned to be on the show. She’s got the complete granny look too. Simon asks Jenny if she’s doing this because she thinks she can win the show. Jenny’s reply? “Absolutely.”

The cardigan, dress, and hair don’t give off the air that she’s prepared for this. Or is she?

Jenny asks everyone to bear with her for a while.

She proceeds to slowly undress, shocking all four judges and the audience.

The granny look is gone, giving way to a black top, leather skirt, and boots.

A familiar guitar riff echoes through the hall as AC DC’s “Highway to Hell” has Jenny pumping up the crowd.

Simon’s face is priceless.

Jenny’s lyrics are a little different but she stays true to the melody, letting her voice rip through the entire place.

People are already clapping along and cheering the senior rocker and even Simon can’t help but smile.

Turns out she’s been quite the musician all along.

Jenny is an adopted child who grew up in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.

She’s played in different bands in different places her entire life, has released four albums, and has been singing since she was twelve.

And instead of living the retired life like most men and women her age do, Jenny chose to rock the stage with a little rock and roll!

The judges were blown away by this little old lady belting out one of the most beloved rock hits of all time. Even David Walliams stood up to enjoy the jam.

Simon, Amanda Holden, and Alesha Dixon have their hands in the air, saluting the rock gods.

The part of the song that goes,

“Ain’t nothin’ that I’d rather do
Goin’ down
Party time
My friends are gonna be there too,”

That’s exactly what’s happening right here.

No crutches, walkers, or wheelchairs for Jenny.

She’s got the rock and roll spirit and it’s going to power her on until her heart stops. And when it does, she’s either climbing that stairway to heaven or driving down the highway to hell.

She’s got that bluesy rock voice that is so refreshing to hear. And to think it’s coming from a 68-year-old! After her performance, David said,

“We’ve heard of Jenny from the block, now we have Jenny who does rock!”
