You might have heard that young children are not worth inviting to special events. Some party-goers feel that children get in the way or don’t add a lot to major events. But the young girl in this video made her parent’s night special in a very big way.
From this moment
The video opens as we see a small girl standing in a pretty frilly dress. She has a mic in her hand and is backed up by a live band. The lead guitarist whispers some instructions to the girl as she prepares for a live performance like none other.
The guitarist then stands back and plays the opening melodies to Shania Twain’s “From This Moment On” as the camera pans to show the young girl’s profile. It looks like the girl is about to have stage fright, until she opens her mouth.
Sing it, girl!
Emery, the young girl, breaks into song. Her voice starts soft and low as she gets used to standing in front of the crowd. Every voice is hushed as the girl harmonizes with Shania Twain’s lyrics.
But then, Emery gains confidence. Her voice rises as she sings the lyrics. You can almost see the smile in the girl’s eyes as she becomes the starlet capturing everyone’s attention.
The first dance
The camera pans over to show what Emery is singing for. We see the girl’s parents, in the center of the dance area, swaying and twirling as the music plays. This heartwarming magical night is all for them.
You can see Emery’s parents watching and smiling at their daughter if you look carefully. They are so proud of their little girl and it couldn’t be more obvious.
You are the one
The camera pans back over to Emery. It’s surprising how well she maintains pace with the music. She doesn’t miss a beat and she never strays from the melody that the band’s playing.
For this moment, Emery is the star of the show and she shows a true singer’s focus. Unlike earlier, she doesn’t even look uncertain, because she knows what she wants to do.
Every time the chorus comes around, Emery’s eyes are forward. We imagine that she’s watching her parents with the same love and affection that they show to her. It shows a humility that ignores the camera and attention on her and places it firmly back on the happy couple enjoying their first dance.
A beautiful family
But even the sweetest moments must come to an end. As the final notes play, the crowd is cheering loud and long for this amazing little girl. She smiles especially when her parents come to the stage to congratulate her.
The lead guitarist then addresses the crowd. He encourages the audience to give applause as he says:
“Now if that doesn’t melt your heart, Come on!”
He then calls the whole family together so that everyone can see Emery, her parents, and her sister. It’s a bonding moment as this family shares a very special moment together.
We don’t know if Emery continues swinging for major events, but we can’t deny that she melted our hearts. Wouldn’t you love to have her perform at your next big event?
