When none other than Simon Cowell gives an act his one and only golden buzzer, you immediately know that you’ve just witnessed something special.
The latest episode of Britain’s Got Talent featured an adorable singing duo that stole the hearts of the judges, the audience and everyone watching at home alike.
Meet Tim Goodacre and his twelve-year-old son Jack.
The two performed an excellent original song that left members of the audience in tears and awe.
Tim, a father of three and a musician, has been singing together with Jack ever since he was five years old. Music and talent certainly run in the family, as Jack previously competed in the Voice Kids as well, and even made it pretty far in the competition.
This time, Jack decided that he wanted to explore music together with his father, and that’s a decision that he certainly won’t regret.
Before the audition started, the judges wanted to learn a bit more about this sweet duo. They soon found out that Britain’s Got Talent is actually one of the twelve-year-old’s favorite television programs and that he watches it all the time.
Judge David Williams then proceeded to ask him a pretty daring question and wanted to know who his favorite judge was.
Jack quickly replied that Simon was his favorite because he thinks his insults are always funny. We have to admit – the little man does have a point!
Jack and his dad Tim then said they were performing an original, and highly emotional song.
The song, titled “The Lucky Ones”, is all about loving and appreciating what we have. You don’t know what you’re missing until it’s gone.
“It’s about how lucky we are to have what we have,” little Jack told the judges.
Tim hits the first notes in the song, and you just realize right away that this is going to be an act that’s going to be remembered for a long time.
After a little while, his just as talented boy joins in for an absolutely phenomenal duet. Their song is also just incredibly well written, and the lyrics along with the stunning performance even resulted in Amanda Holden tearing up.
We truly are the lucky ones, for being able to witness these two talented musicians perform.
After the performance, Tim and Jack were met with a standing ovation and a deafening applause.
However, the judges had little time to give remarks, because Jack’s favorite judge Simon wanted to quickly do something first.
“Tim, Jack, this says it all.”
Those were Simon’s exact words moments before he hit his golden buzzer. Jack and Tim couldn’t believe what was happening.
“That was fantastic, I love that song. It reminded me of being with my boy,” Simon Cowell told. “I’ve got to tell you that was so fantastic, so pure. Well done you two.”
“I’m a dad and it was just wonderful to see a father and son with this very special connection, put this beautiful performance together,” David Williams said.
Judge Amanda Holden wanted to share her thoughts as well.
“I was a mess throughout the whole thing,” she told them while the confetti was falling on the ground. “An amazing golden buzzer.”
Thanks to the golden buzzer, Jack and Tim will now be performing in the live semi-finals of the show, so this definitely isn’t the last we’ve heard of them.
