Family’s quarantine dance moves are ‘too hot” featuring ‘Uptown Funk’
This is how you do it.

Just about everyone loves to dance. For some, their preferred style is country while for others, rock and roll. But one genre of music that gets everyone on the dance floor is funk. There’s just something about the beat that makes it hard to stay seated.

But what happens when there isn’t a dance floor? With the pandemic forcing people to stay home, there’s no way to go out dancing. Why not dance at home? Better yet, why not videotape yourself dancing at home and then share it with the world. That’s what the Hoffman family did and their moves are unbeatable.

Interesting choice of music

This dad, mom, and daughter wanted to do something fun. So, they decided to record themselves dancing to the Bruno Mars’ song, Uptown Funk. Here’s the ironic thing…this family looks as though they’re 100 percent country yet they’ve got some funky moves. The video starts with the daughter going to a corner in the kitchen where she starts playing the air guitar.

Sliding into action

As soon as you hear the lyrics, “This hit, that ice cold, Michelle Pfeiffer, that white gold…” the dad slides into the kitchen. Now next to his daughter, the two of them start grooving as the song continues, “This one for them hood girls, them good girls straight masterpieces.”

This is priceless

Remember, you’d expect this dad to be riding a combine in the middle of a cornfield and the daughter sitting in her room chatting on the phone with friends…not getting down to Uptown Funk in the middle of their kitchen. But they nailed it from start to finish.

Stealing the show

Although the daughter is fantastic and you can tell she’s having a blast, it’s the dad who steals the show. While lip-syncing the words, he moves his hips back and forth. He even does some cool movements with his hands.

It only gets better

When you hear the words, “Gotta kiss myself, I’m so pretty, I’m too hot (hot damn), Called a police and a fireman, I’m too hot (hot damn),” they both get even more serious about their dance moves. You can’t help but laugh because it’s so hysterical.

Now it’s momma’s turn

Don’t think for a second that the mom was going to let the dad and their daughter have all the fun. Sure enough, she starts dancing too. But she doesn’t stay long. Instead, most of the video is a father-daughter duo.

Hallelujah

At one point in the song, you hear the lyrics “Girls hit your hallelujah (whoo), which repeats several times. Right on cue, the father raises his hands. Oh my gosh, we can’t get enough.

Going solo

In the song, there’s a small rap-like part. When that starts, the dad dances his way out of the kitchen, leaving his daughter alone. She mouths the words in perfect synchronization, “Uptown funk you up, I said uptown funk you up.” This too repeats until you hear “Come on, dance, jump on it, if you sexy then flaunt it.”

Yep…you guessed it

On cue, the father comes back. Doing a robot-like move, he joins his daughter for some more hardcore dance moves. In no time, they’re grooving to the music.
