Some people assume that as we age we will inevitably grow slower and less fun. On the other hand, many other people have noticed that their love of life and adventure has not waned even a little as they approach their elder years.
At the Rock That Swing Ball, a German couple proved that age is just a number when it comes to rhythm.
The dance moves they exhibited put the youngsters to shame.
Nellia and Dietmar Ehrentraut cut a rug!
When the video begins, Nellia and Dietmar Ehrentraut give a little bow in their vintage attire. The fans are applauding but likely are unaware of what a treat they are about to receive.
When the music hits, it becomes clear that these two really know how to boogie-woogie.
This type of dancing requires a lot of hip movement.
That might not be something you would think an elderly couple would excel at but that’s exactly what they did.
They’ve got the moves like Jagger (and are in his age-cohort too).
Marooon 5 made a big deal out of having “Moves like Jagger” in 2011. If having moves like Jagger means being able to dance tremendously well into your 70s, however, then we would suggest Maroon 5 has nothing on Nellia and Dietmar Ehrentraut.
The crowd at the Rock That Swing Ball treated the couple like they were just as special, if not more so than the Rolling Stones.
Nellia and Dietmar Ehrentraut went viral.
Video of the couple dancing has been viewed online more than 10 million times. It was posted to the official YouTube channel of the Rock That Swing Ball.
The Ehrentraut’s amazing dance routine has no doubt exposed many people to the world of swing dancing. They probably inspired quite a few people to take up the style of dance themselves.
With 10 million people having seen their dance routine, we’re certain some of the viewers were elderly folk who assumed their dancing days were behind them.
Perhaps after seeing the Ehrentrauts cut a rug, they were motivated to see if they can do the same.
Keeping the love alive through dance
We can only imagine how much chaos these two created on dancefloors when they were younger. Isn’t it so amazing to see people keeping that love of dance (and each other) alive in their later years?
Both of the Ehrentrauts look absolutely delighted to be out on the dancefloor showing what they can do. She never loses her smile and he looks thoroughly satisfied with everything throughout the video.
These two aren’t re-living their youth.
They are just living life to its fullest every moment!
Numerous viewers have been inspired by the couple enough to leave a comment on the YouTube video.
“They do that just the way a boogie should be done. And she looks so happy and full of life. What an inspiration! I’ll never complain about aches and pains again,” wrote another.
