Instead of singing its lyrics, he decided to give it a completely unique melodic value. He gave life to it with his own instrumental interpretation.
His piece? A pan flute!
This musical instrument isn’t easy to play. Apart from the need to learn the right techniques, you also need to have at least basic knowledge of music. You also have to be familiar with its terms.
David didn’t have a hard time playing the song with his pan flute.
In fact, he seemed to enjoy every minute of it. He was just feeling every note as he delivered.
David’s version of the song Josh Groban helped popularize is a bit different.
At the beginning of the video, you’ll see him walking with a beautiful horse. A few seconds after, he appears with his pan flute.
As soon as he delivered his first few notes, you can tell that he’s mastered the instrument.
He was able to hit all the high notes effortlessly. He turned the whole song into a melodically emotional trip.
David’s excellent skill in playing the pan flute wasn’t the only thing that made his performance extraordinary.
Instead of performing at a studio or in front of an audience, he decided to play the popular folk instrument while traveling in the countryside. He even shows the moment where he’s playing in a horse-drawn buggy.
The set-up gave added intensity to his performance.
Listening to him feels like being taken into a different world where everything is peaceful and calm. It’s really beautiful.
David’s performance has more than 350,000 views.

In fact, he’s covered lots of songs. His “Amazing Grace” cover, for example, has more than 11 million views. He also posted a version of “Hallelujah” and it earned more than 2.9 million views.
David developed his talent on his own.
At the age of six, he already knew how to play the violin. And by age 12, he could already spontaneously play the pan flute.
Even if there was no one to teach him how to play the instrument, he was able to master it by himself. This just proves how talented he is and how passionate he is about music.
