On Tap Dancing

Tap dancing isn’t just a hobby or a sport. By encouraging body movements and coordination, it can elevate your heart rate and give you a good cardiovascular workout.

You can consider it a total body exercise. In fact, if you do it for an hour, you can burn as much as 200 to 600 calories. Of course, the amount of calories you burn will depend on your pace.

It can also promote good balance and posture. It’s good for increasing cognitive acuity as well, a benefit that can help people with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

If you decide to do it, make sure that you’re physically well. Tap dancers are prone to experiencing injuries in the kneecaps. Take one step at a time to learn everything about tap dancing since it’s not easy to master, particularly if you’re not physically active before trying it out.
