Jump rope is more than just a way to boost one’s physical fitness, balance, and coordination.

It’s actually a full-fledged sport and it has been over the last 25 years. It isn’t exactly an Olympic sport but enthusiasts are hoping it could get there some day.

Considered a low-impact sport, jump rope isn’t as easy to learn as it looks.

Olivia and Emilie came to Wisconsin Dells with their team of thirty members. They called themselves the Heartbeats Jump Rope Team.

Established in 1992, they are a team of elementary through college students.

They are from different areas in Northeast Ohio but they are based at Medina’s Pinnacle Sports. It’s amazing how one sport can put together a whole team with members from different locations.

The Heartbeats team bagged second place in the All-Around Freestyle category.
