When it comes to America’s Got Talent, there are some acts that you will never forget.
Courtney Hadwin is one of those acts and she is only a teenager!
The 14-year-old made headlines after she blew the judges away during her America’s Got Talent audition. Howie Mandel even called her a young Janis Joplin!
Understandably so, Howie slammed his Golden Buzzer for Courtney and rocketed her into the live shows. That meant she got to skip the Judges Cut episodes and went straight to Hollywood.
We’ve finally gotten another chance to see Courtney perform again and once more, she has completely blown us all away.
Her talent is truly remarkable, as Courtney is very shy. It is obvious in her movements when she isn’t performing. But when Courtney starts to sing, she completely transforms.
For her second performance on America’s Got Talent, Courtney decided to channel the King of Soul. She chose to sing “Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag” by James Brown.
Her performance got off the ground in seconds, as she began with a shrill yell that demanded the audience’s undivided attention.
Courtney’s stole the show and commanded the stage as she moved around. Her moves were a little funky, but they totally fit her performance style perfectly.
When Courtney finished her incredible cover of “Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag,” all four judges were on their feet and cheering.
Simon Cowell got out of his seat and rushed over to hug Howie. Presumably, because he felt that Howie made the right call when he gave Courtney his Golden Buzzer.
Heidi Klum kicked off the commentary by saying:
“I have not been this excited by a new artist in a very, very long time. You definitely are in a category of your own. I love the way you dance, I love the way you sound. I love you, I think you are a very, very special young lady.”
Mel B confirmed that Courtney is just 14 years old and then went on to mention how many people have made fun of the way that Courtney dances. To which Courtney told her that “not a lot of people get me.”
However, all of the judges were quick to tell her that they got her!
“And you are incredible! You know what. Screw them. I want tickets to your show tonight. And the next night, and the next night, and the next night.”
Simon was actually stumped on what to tell Courtney. He told her that she shouldn’t listen to what anyone said and to do exactly what she just did, because it was incredible.
The video was posted on America’s Got Talent’s Facebook page and quickly was engaged with by fans, earning thousands of likes, comments, and shares.
One Facebook user wrote:
She was so unique and so good! She’s 14 years old people, have a little heart here. So talented, especially being only 14! Props for her stepping out no matter what anyone says and doing what she loves!!
