When West Coast Swing meets Country, you know you are about to watch a fun dance.

Jason Colacino and Katie Boyle do not disappoint in their dance to Travis Tritt’s “Honky Tonk Women.” These two professionals know how to shake it on the floor and get the whole crowd up on their feet throughout their entire performance. Have you ever seen a more enthusiastic dance audience?

Jason Colacino started country line dancing as a teenager and dance was soon in his bones.

“He went on to master Swing, Salsa, Argentine Tango, Jazz, Ballet and Ballroom dancing… His success brought a huge demand for his skills, which allowed him to teach, choreograph, compete, perform and judge all over the world,” his website explains.

Jason’s longtime dance partner was Katie Boyle. Katie had started to dance by the age of two and has never stopped since. She is also widely known for her choreography skills in ballroom dancing. Jason and Katie teaming up made for pure dynamite on the dance floor.

The video quality shows that this dance happened many years ago but with over eleven million views on YouTube it is still wowing viewers.

The intricacy of Jason and Katie’s dance moves are so impressive that it deserves multiple views just to understand how complex the dance really is. It is hard to believe their dance is so complex because they dance with such ease. These two flow together through every move seamlessly.

While Katie and Jason are dancing a swing dance, they have dressed the honky-tonk part. They are both wearing jeans on the dance floor which sets the atmosphere for their country song dance. They are also decked out with the biggest smiles. These two have prepared for this dance and are now ready to have some fun.

Jason and Katie have been longtime partners and it shows through their trust.

Many of the moves that Jason and Katie complete in the dance has Katie in the air or very close to the ground. For her to be willing to do such complex moves, she has to fully put her trust in Jason. Thankfully she did, and we get to watch the results in their dance.

Most of the dance is spent with each of their footwork close to each other or completely intertwined. It is stunning to watch these dancers execute this dance with such precision, but have it look so easy. This is one dance that is far from easy!

Jason and Katie’s talent is astonishing and such a joy to watch.

By the end of the dance, the crowd is cheering so hard it is like they are at a sporting event and their team scored the winning touchdown. Yet, this dance is like the winning touchdown in their dancing sport, so they deserve every cheer and applause. It is an incredible dance to view online, it must have been amazing to see it in person.

Sadly, Jason Colacino passed away in 2009, at the young age of 31, from pneumonia and cardiac arrest. His obituary reads,

“His loss will also be mourned by his dance community family of Swing and Tango, who considered him to be one of the most gifted dancers ever to grace the hardwood.”

This dance alone proves what a gifted dancer he truly was.
