If you’re in the need for something to bring a smile to your face, all you have to do is look up dance videos. Seriously, it’s pretty much a guarantee that after watching one, you’ll start to feel better.

Maybe that explains why they’re so popular.

Though any dance video will do, those involving younger or older participants seem to captivate the hearts of viewers that other ones just can’t. If you don’t believe it, just look at this video and this one.

See what we mean?

But there is one video in particular that will not only make you smile but will want you to try something that you might not have tried before – line dancing.

That’s right. The good ‘ol western dancing formation that oftentimes gets overplayed in movies. But when it’s done right, it can make for one of the best scenes.

For example, take this video of older women dancing to The Eruption’s rendition of, “One Way Ticket.” If this were a scene from a movie, it would undoubtedly be the one you’d watched over and over again.

What makes this group of dancers different than others? Well, they appear slightly older but prove that they can still cut a rug or two. Though there isn’t an age cut-off to dancing (anyone can and should do it!), it’s always nice seeing something that is so accessible to all, regardless of age.

The women in this video are enrolled in a line dancing class taught by Jung Mi Young. The choreography is by Marie Sørensen (Sunshine Cowgirl) and the level of difficulty is listed as beginner. Of course, this is great news for the viewers interested in line dancing.

Jung Mi Young is quite popular due to the number of line dancing videos she shares on her YouTube page. Since 2009, her videos have amassed over 14 million views! One of her most popular videos (with 125,000 views) is a routine to “Sun of Jamaica” by Goombay Dance Band.

Still, that number is minuscule in comparison to the 3 million viewers who have tuned in to view the “One Way Ticket” routine.

The video has about 15 dancers. The routine is simple in nature but the fun that these women are having makes it worth the watch.

The women begin by clapping on the downbeat and bobbing their heads to the song. Before we know it, the footwork comes in. It is impressive how well these ladies are able to move their feet. It’s easy to stumble across yourself when having to cross your feet the way they do!

When they skip side-to-side and step forward and back, it isn’t done in a lazy way. These women are full of energy. Every movement they make is done with some “pep in the step” that will make you question your own stamina.

One woman in the front even sings along to the song as she performs. She just might become your favorite line dancer.

Many viewers approved of their fun, albeit brief, dance routine.

“very good dancing I liked it a lot too good music ladies you’re dancing spot on”

“That would be great for slower songs too….great job beautiful women.”

“Thumbs-up, Ladies. Loved it. And the girl on the left of the screen, dressed in black, looked SO relaxed right through the routine. A real natural. Beautiful.”
