His epic dance video didn’t just make a few rounds; it went viral, capturing hearts and screens everywhere.

But let’s rewind a bit. This isn’t the first time a cop has jumped on the viral challenge bandwagon.

Remember 2018? Ah, the good ol’ days of the “lip-sync challenge,” where police officers and firefighters across the nation competed to create the most entertaining music videos.

Fast forward, and our boys in blue were grooving to Blanco Brown’s country rap hit, “The Git Up.”

Now, you might think it’s just about freestyling some dance moves, but oh no, there’s a method to the madness.

According to Blanco Brown himself, there are four essential steps to master: the Cowboy Boogie, the Hoedown, the Butterfly, and the Two-Step.

Since the challenge kicked off, it’s been a free-for-all of fun.

We’ve seen everyone from newlyweds to kiddos to hardhat-wearing construction workers showing off their moves.

And let’s be honest, what’s a viral challenge without our first responders getting in on the action?

Enter Officer Kingery, who serves with the Lawrence Police Department in Indiana.

When his buddies dared him to take on “The Git Up” challenge, he was all in.

Picture this: Kingery, in full police uniform, dancing his heart out in his living room.

And let me tell you, the man’s got moves!

But wait, Kingery’s not done.

He keeps the groove going as the lyrics continue,

“Take it to the left now and dip with it. Gon’ throw down, take a sip with it. Now lean back, put your hips in it – (Whoo, whoo, whoo) let’s have some fun.”

It’s not just the catchy tune that makes you want to join in; it’s Kingery’s all-in commitment to the dance.

Once the video hit the internet, it was game over.

People couldn’t get enough of this dancing cop, who swapped his patrol boots for imaginary cowboy boots and let his hair down, quite literally.

So, where did Kingery get his smooth moves?

He told Fox 59,

“I grew up just enjoying dancing with friends and everything – and then my kids, one of the things we like to do is dance all the time in the kitchen.”

The internet’s reaction? Pure love.

One YouTube comment read, “AMAZING OFFICER!! I absolutely loved watching this video.

Definitely the best one I’ve seen to date. The rhythm was on point!!

Keep up the great videos and community service!! Protect & Defend.”

Another simply said, “I love when people with such serious jobs do fun things like this.”

But wait, there’s a cherry on top! Did you know the inspiration for “The Git Up” came from Blanco Brown’s grandma?

And while we’re sure to see more first responders join the dance-off, for now, Officer Kingery’s rendition is the one to beat.

He’s got the moves, see his fun dance below!
