Christmas is such a magical time of the year. People go shopping, bake cookies with their kids, wrap presents, and decorate the home. But many individuals also enjoy listening to special music. Hearing popular Christmas songs makes the holiday even more festive.

“Mary Did You Know”

Although there are a lot of wonderful Christmas songs, one, in particular, has captured the hearts of people around the world. That song is “Mary Did You Know.” Not only is the music beautiful but also, the lyrics explain to Mary that her baby, Jesus, will one-day perform miracles and rule the world.

Small but mighty

Usually, choirs consist of a lot of people. Sometimes, there are hundreds of individuals all lending their voices to a song. But that’s not always the case. One choir has only five members. It’s small but mighty.

Phenomenal video

This choir is called Pentatonix. Their rendition of the song “Mary Did You Know” was uploaded to social media back in 2014. Since that time, it’s been viewed more than 250 million times. It remains so popular that every year the numbers keep growing.

Perfect harmony

Gorgeous scenery

At first, the choir stands at the entrance to some kind of cave. Then, they move to the interior while each of them holds a lit candle. Throughout the piece, you can’t help but feel something special. It’s truly magical.

Showcasing their unique gift

One of the most amazing aspects of this video is that each choir member’s vocal talent is highlighted. As the song goes on, the camera zooms in on the individuals one by one as they sing a solo piece. It’s breathtaking.

A Capella

The other beautiful thing about this video is the choir sings “Mary Did You Know” a Capella. Even without instruments, it doesn’t get any better than this. Actually, if they were accompanied by music, it would take away from their vocal skills.

Enhanced sound

Choosing to sing inside a cave was a smart move. With the acoustics, it enhanced the overall sound quality. Not that they needed that, but it made their performance even more powerful than it already was.
