There’s nothing sweeter than a group of children coming together to sing and dance, just to bring a smile to someone else’s face. This Salt Lake City Children’s choir did just that by making up their own music video and recording a cover of Meghan Trainor’s song “Better When I’m Dancing”.

If you’ve never heard Meghan Trainor’s music, you should know that it’s very catchy. Nearly every song that was played on the radio makes you want to sing and dance in your car, so it’s no surprise that a children’s choir chose to sing this sone. The upbeat “Better When I’m Dancing” was actually a song that she wrote for the kids movie, The Peanuts Movie. She does a great job, and the music video is equally cute, but these kids may have upstaged her.

The video that these kids filmed is so wholesome there’s even a shot of young girl cuddling a puppy. You can’t help but to smile while watching

The kids’ music video starts by the group of them running to onto the roof a building where we see them all bring their hands in together before the singing starts. After highlighting a few singers they move onto the group choreography.

Starting out with a small group, it then pans to the larger whole, who all participate in singing. After we see all the young ones showing off their moves, we see one of the older kids take over for the chorus. Alone at the mic, she steals all the attention for just a moment when her voice stands out from the rest.

Throughout the whole thing every one of the girls looks like they’re having a blast, excited, smiling and cartwheeling. Then after a few more lines and dance moves, the video fades as we see a group of the girls walk away.

But that’s not the end of the video. One of the best parts of the whole music video was when one young girl lit a match to the verse “show the world you got that fire/fire baby” only to have it immediately put out by one of her friends. after the song is said and done we see the bloopers of this scene, and how many tries it took to get just right.

It’s clear that all the kids in this video have talent, and they sound great when put all together. Their YouTube channel has thousands of followers and views just on the few videos that they’ve posted. The choir has also done covers of “Hallelujah” and “A Million Dreams” from the movie The Greatest Showman.
