Keeping in mind the fact that cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide, raising awareness for the disease is very important.

One way to do it is to celebrate all the fighters who are battling against cancer or have already beaten it. By allowing them to share their experiences, someone’s life might be saved. More importantly, it gives extra courage to all those courageous people going through the same thing.

In summer 2015, Calysta Bevier was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

She was only 16 when bad news struck her hard, but she never gave up. The pain had to come out, and Bevier bravely decided that the disease was not going to stop her from chasing her dreams. Luckily, Bevier’s treatments were going well, she successfully underwent chemotherapy, and the positive outcome inspired her to apply to America’s Got Talent.

In 2016, she stepped on stage, sang her heart out and Simon Cowell awarded her with a golden buzzer.

Bevier was eliminated in the Semifinals, but the world has already heard the awesome young girl out. Everyone wanted to hear more, and Calysta became the person who brings hope.

In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Bevier said that “she has always been a singer,” but she “started writing songs when she was diagnosed.”

Bevier is excellent at showing people that cancer diagnosis is not the end.

The performance took place at a football game, where the Minnesota Vikings put together a touching halftime show in 2019 to honor cancer survivors, patients and caregivers.

Right now, it’s hard to think of a more inspiring event than this one.

Hundreds of people were on the stadium holding banners, supporting those affected by cancer and sending them love. We think that a similar ceremony should be part of a Super Bowl, too! It feels nice seeing all those proud faces, melting with joy they feel because society remembered them.

While Bevier was being announced, a slideshow of photos from her time at the hospital appeared on the screen.

Then the mood goes up as you see short footage of Bevier performing at AGT, glowing in a red dress and leaving everyone in awe with her beautiful voice.

Finally, Bevier appears on the field ready to sing a song to everyone who goes through the same experience as she did.

“Fight Song” by Rachel Platten is Calysta’s favorite song to perform live.

We completely understand why!

Those powerful lyrics, combined with Bevier’s incredible voice, can prompt anyone into believing that anything is possible. The song should become a national song of the American Cancer Society. As the arena blasts with Bevier’s vocals, the faces of cancer patients appear on screen again.

After that, more than a hundred people with different types of cancer come by Bevier’s side.

The banner that says “keep fighting” says it all. Let’s hope that everyone will win.

After releasing three successful singles, Bevier continues to write her music.
