Getting married is a milestone moment in a person’s life.
Gentlemen, you agree that there’s nothing like the feeling of bending the knee with the ring out while you pop the big question.
The butterflies and sheer courage of it all!
And ladies, you remember the feeling of being asked by a man down on one knee, begging you to spend the rest of your days together.
Which means wedding!
Different cultures, different ways of celebrating, but at the end of it all is a grand party where family and guests get to mingle and just enjoy the evening. That’s after the first dance of course.
And as far as first dances go, this one cuts the ice pretty well.
Leah and Devinder are figure skaters so instead of the classic dance, they went ahead and decided to skate dance for their wedding instead!
Here’s their practice run before the big day.
The soon to be newlyweds went ahead for a practice run on a frozen pond set to Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” and believe me, that title really does fit these two well.
Surrounded by houses and woods, Leah and Devinder skate out for a taste of what was to be a magical evening. They really are made for each other. Gliding, and seemingly flying, the couple make good use of their skills leaving viewers breathless at every turn.
Art House says,
“These 2 are sweeter than any gold medal ice skating couples! Their choice of location, alone with eyes only for each other, while surrounded by the realities of the word, says it all♥️ May your marriage bliss last forever!”
Now a part of the song goes,
“Well I found a woman, stronger than anyone I know
She shares my dreams, I hope that someday I’ll share her home
I found a love, to carry more than just my secrets
To carry love, to carry children of our own”
And if that does not speak of Devinder’s love for Leah, I don’t know what will.
They skate backwards hand in hand as if the world did not matter at that moment. A pause later, and Devinder skates around his queen before they share a quick kiss. How that ice isn’t melting, no one knows.
Leah and Devinder show off a bit with a slow spin before transitioning to a quick jump then landing on one foot into another spin. Their aim is to mesmerize their guests while leaving them with a memorable evening.
This is going to work!
Another viewer says,
“Probably the most beautiful pre-wedding dance I’ve ever seen. A beautiful way to begin a life together…wish I could have been at the wedding to witness this ice dance ‘live!’ 💕”
See, some performances are so much better witnessed live. But if you want to see the actual dance during the wedding, here’s the video.
Because really, a dance of this caliber deserves so much attention. Best wishes to Leah and Devinder!
