A lot of teenagers like to ‘boogie down’ on the dance floor. However, Ryan Boz and Alexis Garrish take their passion for the activity to a whole other level.

Ryan and Alexis both started dancing when they were young and similarly come from families in the dance field. Since partnering up as teens, they’ve been wowing audiences with their incredible skills and bringing home championship titles.

The US Open Swing Dance Championships is a prestigious event – and according to their website, it’s the “oldest swing competition in the world.”

They explain:

“More competitors come to The Open to perform their swing routines than any other event in the world. Dancers consider The US Open to be the most challenging and exciting swing competition on the planet. Spectators get to witness the most amazing dance performances that will be seen in one place, at one time.”

It’s a spectacular dance routine, but would they once again become US Open champs?

Ryan and Alexis earned the champion title dancing to “Shut Up and Dance.” (The young adult division features participants between the ages of 14 and 17.) On a YouTube video of the performance, Debbie Ramsey Boz (Ryan’s mom) explained: “This is the highest West Coast Swing Honor that can be achieved.”
