High school was hit or miss for most of us. Either we loved it, or we hated it. If there were moments that everyone could agree were hilarious, it is talent shows. At the core of it, we all love people who make willing fools of themselves!
School talent shows were a chance to show off your skills OR just have fun.
Amid the ridiculousness that was school talent shows, you could split everyone performing into two groups. There were the really devoted and serious people who wanted to showcase their skills, and there were the funny and lighthearted people who just wanted to use the moment for fun.
Both types of people were awesome, but these guys seem to be a combination of both.
Jack Triplett and Anderson Gilberto decided to showcase their skills at the SBU Talent Show a few years ago. They weren’t amazing drummers that were going to battle, or jokester making everyone laugh. Oh no. These guys had planned a detailed dance routine that was clever AND funny. They were destined to win.
The viral video has been seen nearly 200k times, and it’s no wonder why!
The two guys walk out on the stage, and you are already confused as to what is going to happen. The song “Total Eclipse of the Heart” starts playing, and two shirtless dudes in pink tutus and sneakers strut out. Yea, it’s confusing.
Getting to the center of the stage, they start dancing.
With precision and “grace,” the two guys turn to face the crowd and turn to one another. It’s like nobody else is in the room. The guy on the left has a beach ball under his arm and the two stare intensely at one another. Circling in a slow walk, they finally come together.
Pressing the ball between their chests, they are now connected.
With their hands freed, they lift their arms in sync, completing one of the strangest photos ever. They have only just begun, however. Using the ball, they dance around each other, keeping it as an anchor point. Essentially, they are just dancers, connected through the ball, rotating in its beachy orbit.
They spin and rotate the ball on their appendages, ending back up at their initial position.
The ball connects them, the music drives them. Like an elegant game of “keep the balloon in the air,” these two jocks “keep the beach ball in the air” using nothing but their bodies. Near the end, however, they got ready for their big moment.
Up until this point, they had been using their torsos and arms to keep the ball between them.
As part of their finale, however, they wanted to go big or go home. Placing the ball on one of their chests, the other then lifted his body into the air and leaned his chest against the ball, upside down and doing a handstand!
After coming down from the handstand, there was only one move left to do.
With one of them placing their forehead on the ball and the other resting it against their chest, the forehead holder rotated the ball around the other’s body vertically! Going down below the belt and coming up between his legs, the provocative yet graceful move was complete. Kicking the ball away, they lifted their arms in the air, signaling the victory they just attained!
