Kids’ dance recitals can sometimes be as cringe-worthy as they are cute.
After all, it’s hard to get a bunch of young ones all to be in the right place at the right time. And it’s doubly hard if you have a troublemaker amongst them.
However, it’s not very often that the errors are actually part of the show.
In a ballet performance video that’s gone viral, a group of young dancers blend ballet, comedy, and acting into one. The video is called “Ballet Gone BAD!!!” – and it’s been watched over 4-and-a-half MILLION times!
The star of the performance is a ballerina who acts very naughty on stage and messes things up for the other girls. And her antics start from the get-go.
Her name is Madie and she’s noticeable as soon as the performance begins.
All of the ballerinas elegantly come out and take their place. But then out of nowhere, little Madie runs out late, comically waving her hands.
From there, Madie sets out to do her own routine amidst the corps of dancers – she purposefully crowds the other ballerinas and spins right into their space. You can tell this is going to be good right from the jump!
Madie tries to cut off one little girl and she’s not having it, so she starts pushing her back into line.
But before you start saying how kids just can’t behave these days, remember that her antics are all part of the show!
Madie gets back in line, only this time she’s facing the wrong direction.
She then bumps the girl behind her with her behind, hard enough to knock her off her routine. This probably happens in real life too – but it might not be so funny then.
Just when you thought the “naughty” ballerina couldn’t get any better at being bad, she jumps onto the balancing poles and starts doing summersaults!
When Madie really gets going, two of the “well-behaved” ballerinas dramatically try to pull her off and get her back on track. After they finally get her off, she moves on down the line to pester someone else.
Meanwhile, the rest of the ballerinas continue to act as if nothing out of the ordinary is happening!
Even when Madie accidentally kicks another ballerina while doing a leg lift!
This will have you cracking up from start to finish. All of the ballerinas do a wonderful job and the crowd absolutely loves them.
Finally, to end the show, all the ballerinas band together and kick the disruptive dancer out of the class.
The comments on the video were great – especially the fact that some people even saw themselves in the little rebel!
Of course, there were also a lot of YouTubers that had no idea the naughty ballerina was part of the act too. That makes it a whole different experience and there were plenty of people thinking “ballet ain’t what it used to be!” Of course, sometimes art forms evolve with the times – just not in this way.
