It’s always cool to see street performers. These people vary from dancers, to fortune tellers, artists, magicians, and musicians. You could be out for a stroll with your favorite cup of coffee when you chance upon talent.
Lots of famous singers were once buskers. Names like Rod Stewart, Tracy Chapman, Ed Sheeran, and even B.B. King were once street performers. So don’t give up on your dreams!
Allie Sherlock and Cuan Durkin are buskers. They met on Grafton Street in Dublin. The fates brought these two together and since then, their performances have delighted fans all over.
Both are guitarists but it’s those voices that have garnered international attention. Allie was discovered when a video of her busking on Dublin’s Grafton Street singing Ed Sheeran’s “Supermarket Flowers” went viral.
Sherlock and Durkin had a go with “Shallow“. The famous song by Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga from the movie, A Star is Born.
They haven’t even started but already a crowd has formed.
Allie introduces the song, Cuan tells them to hit the notification bell, and after a few laughs, Allie plucks that signature intro. The familiar country rock song fills the open air. Cuan sings on cue,
“Tell me somethin’, girl
Are you happy in this modern world?
Or do you need more?
Is there somethin’ else you’re searchin’ for?”
He sounds great. Handsome too!
Allie then takes Gaga’s part,
“Tell me something, boy
Aren’t you tired tryin’ to fill that void?
Or do you need more?
Ain’t it hard keeping it so hardcore?”
But it’s that iconic part of Gaga’s that stuns the crowd. Even Cuan, who by now is used to Allie’s voice still reacts when Sherlock hits those high notes. With ease! Allie’s a hell of a singer!
“I’m off the deep end, watch as I dive in
I’ll never meet the ground
Crash through the surface, where they can’t hurt us
We’re far from the shallow now”
All that from a girl who is only fifteen-years-old.
Give her another five years and wait until her voice matures. Allie already sounds insane as it is. Durkin can sing opera but even he gawks and admires Sherlock’s crazy vocals. Might be more to his look too…
Even a viewer noticed,
“Oh my there is some serious chemistry between Allie and Cuan. Lovely romantic looks plus a connection of singing so good together. Should perform together as they are awesome. Also solo excellent. There is a special quality when together. Thank you so very much. A very Merry Christmas to you both plus family. Also to everyone may you all have happiness and blessings too.”
Honestly no one would be surprised. There is an undeniable chemistry between these two buskers.
The crowd got bigger too. There is no denying the talent Allie and Cuan have. Both are young so watch out for their schedules. Don’t be surprised if you see them performing near you in a few years.
