Talent shows and singing competitions have recently become more popular than ever.
Every now and then, a fresh face appears carrying an enormous amount of talent and energy, and the judges simply can’t hide how amazed they are. That’s why we love such auditions—they are filled with happy emotions and surprises.
Alice Fredenham is exactly that type of person: talented and full of surprises.
In 2013, she appeared on Britain’s Got Talent and became an instant sensation. She disappeared for a while, but now she’s back singing “I Only Have Eyes For You.” For those who don’t know, she went from being a beauty therapist to a worldwide talent with a beautiful voice.
Before competing on Britain’s Got Talent, Fredenham occasionally sung at weddings and parties.
Those were smaller gigs, and Alice had never performed in front of such a large audience and was very nervous on stage.
Luckily, it didn’t affect her singing at all—Simon Cowell described her rendition of “My Funny Valentine” as “pure gold.” Fredenham’s audition has been viewed more than 70 million times on YouTube, and everything was going on well for her.
The girl specializes in jazz/blues renditions, and although she didn’t make it past the semi-final, Alice’s loyal fanbase still supports her.
Alice’s voice has also been described as “seductive and beautiful” by all judges, and after hearing her version of “I Only Have Eyes For You” we must admit that we were seduced.
Under the Covers, Alice’s debut album was released in 2017, in collaboration with Cherry Records.
At first, Fredenham was offered a contract with entertainment giant Sony. Sadly, they later decided against a full album deal, and Alice had to find an alternative if she wanted to record her music.
Eventually, Cherry Records jumped in, and the album saw the light of day.
Surprisingly, then Alice disappeared completely. She didn’t promote her new album and didn’t release any new material. Fans were confused and wanted to know what happened to their beloved jazzy girl with powerhouse vocals.
Recently, no one knows what she’s been up to—let’s just hope that this adorable lady is doing okay and that she’s still singing!
Her voice has a lot of resemblance to the golden era singers of the ‘30s and 40’s. As the video begins, we can see Alice singing in a studio. The lights are dim, she’s dressed casually and the music goes on to enliven the atmosphere.
Her timing is perfect, and the way she sings makes all worries go away.
