Jimmy Fallon is always making his guests do something whacky and out-of-the-box on The Tonight Show.
It was no different when Alessia Cara stopped by the New York night show once again. This time, she was going to sing a pop song, but it had a twist.
Previously, Alessia has done the popular segment Musical Impressions when she’s visited The Tonight Show. This time, Jimmy had her do more impressions, but all while singing the same song.
For this round of impressions, Jimmy preselected the extremely popular song “Bad Guy” which was originally sung by Billie Eilish.
While Alessia and Billie are somewhat close in age, the sound of their music is fairly different. Alessia’s music is more upbeat and something you can really dance to at a concert.
“Bad Guy” is Billie’s most popular song and certainly more energetic than some of her other music, but it is still much slower and softer than what Alessia normally sings.
But, Alessia is clearly a talented singer. She kicked the song off right away and nailed impression after impression.
To start, Alessia had to sing the song as if she was performing like Lorde, who is more similar in tone to Billie than Alessia is. She did a great job with that one and effortlessly transitioned into her next impression, which was Alanis Morrisette.
From there, she had to sing like she was Shakira, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Cardi B, and finally, Billie Eilish.
Out of all the singers she had to impersonate, Alessia sounded the most like Ariana Grande. Ari might want to watch her back!
Alessia had some serious chops when it comes to singing, but she could also do as a gig on the side of impressions. She really mimicked these artists perfectly!
The video got over 1 million views on YouTube and over 500 comments on Facebook. One user wrote:
I love this girl!!!! She’s so crazy talented! Saw her in concert, loved every single minute!

She’s done Wheel of Musical Impressions twice already. Her most recent spin of the wheel was only a month ago, actually.
Wheel of Musical Impressions is set up differently than what Alessia just did. When spinning the wheel, which is really just pushing a button, guests get a celebrity to impersonate and a song to sing.
The song that they will sing is not a song that that celebrity sings. And the celebrity to impersonate isn’t always a singer! It is always random and always hilarious!
It makes sense that Alessia was asked to sing “Bad Guy” when she visited The Tonight Show again because when she did Wheel of Musical Impressions, her first celebrity to impersonate was Billie!
Alessia was tasked with pretending to be Billie while singing “Pop Goes the Weasel.” And she sounded just like Billie! What do you think of Alessia’s impression skills?
