Fabio Rodrigues is taking the world by storm with his soulful voice and stunning guitar skills.
He has amassed almost 100,000 YouTube subscribers and continues to share unique, melodic covers across his social media pages.
If you thought the original Bee Gee’s version of “How Deep is Your Love” was smooth… I swear Fabio has found a way to make it smoother.
It’s not abundantly clear where he’s from, but he’s making waves all over the world.
He has shared various social media posts with hashtags for Brazil, Nigeria and Ireland.
Making him quite the international man of mystery!
But for this performance, I was able to track down his location.
It wasn’t too hard, because he’s busking on one of Dublin’s most famous and recognizable shopping areas: Grafton Street.
One specific section is also known as Dublin’s most Instagrammable street because of the fun, colorful umbrellas hanging across the laneway.
It has been Ireland’s shopping mecca for ages, dating all the way back to Victorian times!
But in recent years, it has become famous for more than just the shops and restaurants. It’s a hub for talented up and coming musicians to show off their skills and get noticed.
The street has acted as a stage for notable Irish artists like Bono, Damian Rice, and Glen Hansard.
And now Fabio has found a spot on the strip where he frequently performs for tourists and locals alike.
Often sharing his smooth solo covers with passersby, or collaborating with other artists. His Bee Gees cover turned heads as he played his smooth guitar outdoors. Slowing down the classic tune and serenading everyone around him.
Grafton Street was unusually empty when the pandemic first spread across the globe. As was every public area from Toronto to Singapore!
Buskers lost their outdoor performance space, and music-lovers lost the ability to discover new music on the street.
Oh, what I wouldn’t do to go see a concert right now!
But now masks and social distancing are becoming more commonplace and respected by the general public. So buskers have been able to slowly get back to normal and play on the streets again.
Fabio has covered everyone from Stevie Wonder to Mariah Carey, and always manages to put his own charming spin on the classic songs.
In an interview with Dublin City Today, he revealed that his father is also a guitar player. So he’s been learning all his life!
He even shared an adorable photo of his teen self on his Instagram page.
Some of his Instagram captions are written in Portuguese, and he has such a wide Brazilian fan-base that it seemed like it couldn’t just be a coincidence.
In the same interview, he revealed that he is in fact from Brazil! And moved to Ireland a few years ago.
It looks like he’s having a smashing time and traveling around the country when he isn’t busking on the streets.
His fans don’t just love him for his origins or musical talents, but his warm personality as well!
It seems everyone who has come into contact with him (or even just watched a lot of his videos) raves about his consistently good spirits.
