It’s pretty amazing to see adult dancers who have years of training and skill development behind them. They’ve spent countless hours building their muscles and learning how to move in a way that’s both graceful and precise.
Even more amazing?
Watching a 5-year-old child put on the same kind of performance.
Brylee Monninger is only 5 years old but she moves with the grace and athleticism of a much older performer. Her recent performance of “Time to Say Goodbye” had people everywhere falling in love with the talented little girl.
Brylee is by no means a stranger to the limelight.
Her confidence is obvious in the way she carries herself, moving with poise and energy. It’s clear that she enjoys her time on the stage, which is the most important part of a good performance. That’s why it’s such a pleasure to watch this talented girl.
Even though she’s just barely starting school, Brylee has already competed in dance competitions around the country. One of them, Countdown Nationals, saw her performance of “Wild Child,” which landed her in eighth place out of the entire competition. It’s something for this sweet little girl to be very proud of.
Brylee even has her own Instagram account, which has almost 1,000 followers.
It’s run by her mother, of course. But there aren’t many 5-year-olds who can say they have a dedicated social media following.
“Absolutely amazing weekend dancing at the K[star]R Competition,” read one of Brylee’s updates. “Met some really amazing new friends, had a blast with all my friends from my studio and danced my little heart out …I placed 1st place in my contemporary solo and 6th overall.”
Brylee largely focuses on jazz and contemporary dance, but “Time to Say Goodbye” was a perfect example of her flair for contemporary dance.
Her routine combined contemporary dance, classical dance, and even elements of gymnastics. The result was truly impressive.
“You danced so beautifully baby girl,” read an Instagram comment from her mother after the performance. “I am so so proud of you and how hard you work. Your passion for dance at barely the age of 6 and your desire to become better each time makes mommy so proud. Continue reaching for the stars. You are our #1 [star].”
Brylee’s teachers currently choreograph her routines, but as she grows older, she’ll start choreographing her own.
For right now, she relies on their guidance but executes her routines with her own skill, confidence, and precision. It’s clear that she works incredibly hard to achieve the results she does. It’s an amazing amount of work for such a young child.
Brylee’s Instagram account is also full of videos of her performing dance routines at home for her own family.
It’s clear that she loves to dance and that the future holds a lot for her.
In spring 2019, Brylee also passed another big milestone: she graduated kindergarten. She’s achieved so much at a young age, there’s no telling how far she’ll go.
