Drummers are energetic and experienced musicians.

They’re good at keeping time and they have impressive rhythmic accuracy. Certain musical experiences only come with age, and children usually lack that experience—or do they? As it turns out, not all of them do! Caleb is a four-year-old boy who breaks all molds and prejudices.

If you don’t believe us, just watch him play this cover of “Toxicity” by System of a Down on his drum set.

The innocence in his eyes combined with his fierce little hands will astound you.

Most people would assume that he’s waving his drumsticks through the air, imitating the drumming.

Still, they would be wrong—Caleb is making all the music himself, and he does it like a pro. His mom wrote in the video’s description box that she’s in charge of filming his videos and social media content. At the beginning of the video, Caleb keeps his sticks crossed, waiting for the music to begin and looking at the camera with a little bit of impatience.

We can see that Caleb is comfortable in front of the camera—he just enjoys the sound of metal music.

We loved the moment when he smiled at his mom as if he wanted to say: “Don’t worry mom, I’ll slay the song!”

Though that’s unusual for such a young child, we have to give a lot of props to his parents who recognized his talent and interest.

This little guy is already an internet star!

Caleb H. has a YouTub channel where he regularly uploads videos.

The most recent performance he had was with Jay Weinberg during the Slipknot Birmingham Show in January 2020. If your child is good enough to do a show with Slipknot, you must know that he’ll probably be doing major things in show business when he grows up! After the video of him at the Slipknot concert went viral, Caleb was nicknamed “the youngest Slipknot fan.” What’s most unusual is that his parents said he picks up the music by ear and then reproduces the sounds he hears.

After seeing this, you’re sure to smile and his performance will steal your heart without any effort.

He may be playing a heavy metal sound, but Caleb’s charm is hard to resist—even if you’re not a fan of the music or the genre!

It’s clear his parents are doing the right thing by sharing his performances with us.

We’ve got got to admit, Caleb is still a little young to know the impact of his talent on a wider audience, but his parents are doing it all properly.

We could all learn a lesson or two from this family: it’s important to push further your child’s skills, regardless of age, as long as you monitor their baby steps on the way. Little Caleb’s been drumming since he was two years old, and his progress is obvious.

Since the video was posted, it earned half a million YouTube views in less than a year.

The video was first uploaded in October 2019.

We love it because children need to enjoy the music—and because the comments are disabled, Caleb gets to share his talent without being exposed to any negativity. If you like Caleb’s work, you can also check him out on other platforms. We’re guessing that his 23,600 subscribers have already done so.
